Nicosia's old town is fascinating and safe to walk around day and night.
Nicosia also has an excellent cheap bus service.
Locals are friendly and helpful if you need directions. Many Cypriots speak English.
And of course the Greek Cypriot food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Besides, almost always great weather, very nice people, and delicious food, 1 - to 2 days in Nicosia is enough to walk around and check out the sightseeing. I recommend passing through the border to the Turkish side and shopping a bit in the Turkish Bazar (the ladies will like POSH Handbags & Shoes shop) and eating at the local restaurants. Have a Turkish coffee.

Nicosia is a very unique and historic City.
Nicosia is a very unique and historic City. Famously it is still a divided city and it is possible to visit Northern Nicosia which is under Turkish Occupation since the 1970s.
There are many very interesting and fairly unique sites to visit on both sides of the border.
Nicosia is both a very modern city and has also a very old and picturesque sector. The fact that it has a patrolled border, the Green Line, running through it makes it a very memorable experience.
There are many restaurants and tavernas of variable quality in the town. Sadly there are way too many fast food outlets, but there are also some traditional tavernas serving fresh local delicacies.
However my main criticism would be, as a vegan, I found it very difficult to find places that catered for me.

The southern city center is very small--you can easily walk from end to end multiple times in a day of sightseeing--but it is a pleasant mix of developed tourist streets, colorful quaint residential streets, abandoned buildings and weird more or less closed shops with display windows full of junk. The center is worth a day. A second day is best spent on the Turkish side or in nature at the city outskirts.

I loved and always visit Nicosia both myself and my wife visited 2 or 3 times per year I love the weather and the kind people , lots of attraction and lots of restaurants with fine food , fantastic place especially in December time , Nicola is easy to move around
The apartment is spacious, bright, and airy and very well decorated and spotless when it comes to cleanliness. More amenities are usually offered by any other place. Taking the price into consideration this is an extremely good find. The location is right in the heart of nicosia and close to all sides of the center.
The host is incredibly kind and willing to help and go the extra mile to make sure the guests are happy and have everything they need. Something that is scarce nowadays, and i really appreciate it
We were given a superb room, very spacious and comfortable overlooking the pool area. We found the staff friendly, and we were given a warm welcome on arrival. The swimming pool is a delight and the food served by the pool was of a high standard. The breakfast menu was good, with a range of dishes available. The hotel is in an excellent location, and within easy walking distance of the old town area. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you wish to stay in the centre of Nicosia.
Fantastic place with a family vibe. Rooms are very big and well equipped. We had a balcony with a very nice view where we could have breakfast. Around the hotel you can find a bakery and some small shops if you want to prepare meal for yourself. Place is spottles and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. They help you wherever they can. I wish we could stay longer.
The location was just perfect. The hotel was charming. The staff were amazing. The place was impeccably clean. Huge balconies! Although in the middle of the busiest part of the city, it was acceptable to sleep relative to new builds where you could hear the roads and cars passing by. Definitely value for money. It doesn’t make any sense to stay anywhere else in Nicosia.
-It's a small cozy clean business hotel, big simple modern room and balcony
-Nice helpful staff
- the breakfast is tasty (La carte-no buffet)
- I liked the mobile phone integrated with hotel app system
-The location is about 6 minutes from the old town by car and 10 minutes to the check point of the north part
-Nespresso machine, but kettle would be nice also
Spacious one room apartment outside of the old town of Nicosia with a nice balcony.
The bed was comfortable and big enough. In case of any questions the host responded always quickly.
If you turned on the booster 15minutes in advance you had hot water with enough pressure (which is not always the case during winter in cyprus).
The bathroom design was terrible! The bathroom floor is level all throughout the room. The drain was clogged and after taking a shower the water was everywhere in the bathroom and spilling to the main room. Totally unacceptable for a 4-5 star hotel and the only Hilton on the island !
There is always fresh water available. There are 2 toilets with shower and 1 without. Good rooftop view (it is possible to see part of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus flag that was drawn in a mount in the Turkish side). There is coffee and tea available in the morning.
Second time we stayed at Map. Hotel is new and modern. Staff are very pleasant and attentive. Breakfasts, which was included in the price, among the best we ever had. Stayed in a great room (503), which made our stay even more memorable. The restaurant is a MUST!
it was very well managed and the staff there were so friendly and helpful, the facilities for the price you pay were amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone intending to travel to Cyprus Nicosia.
This is a great hotel to stay if you want to be close to the city centre and the relevant sightseeing. Staff was super friendly and there to help with health problems that arose during my stay in Cyprus.
Well maintained and well located, this older hotel is good value for money, and has parking which is always good! Very comfortable room, reasonable size. Easy walk to old town and sites to see.
The Hotel was excellent, exactly what we needed. It was only a very short stay but as we travel to Cyprus on a regular basis for work and are here sometimes for a week at a time.
