Right by the sea, 1st floor bar and restaurant overlooking the sea through large windows.
Decent restaurant menu with generous plates.
Good to have coffee and tea in the room which is very large by modern standards.
Definitely an historical flair! I could imagine Miss Marple having a tea there :).
On Hastings Seafront, this stylish hotel is located next to the White Rock Theater. It features a lively cafe-bar, a sun terrace, 24-hour front desk and free Wi-Fi access.
Astral Lodge is located in the center of the historic coastal town of Hastings, directly opposite the beach.

Nice room, nice view of the sea. Perfect location for the white rock theatre which is why we booked but also good for Hastings sea front and town center.
Set amid 38 acres of woodland and gardens, 3 miles away from the historic towns of Hastings and Battle in East Sussex, the hotel is an ideal base to explore 1066 country.

Hastings has weathered recent years rather better than many...
Hastings has weathered recent years rather better than many towns. The Old Town area which was a little run down on my last visit has now been restored with many restaurants and the narrow streets had a friendly vibe missing from places like The Lanes in Brighton. The town centre is nothing special but only has a few empty shops. St Leonards seems to be its more upmarket twin although the transition between towns is seamless. The coastal area is varied including an under cover "bottle alley" and some good coffee shops (Goat Ledge being my favourite with a hippy vibe). It also felt safe with groups of people of all ages just enjoying being outdoors by the sea with some music. There seem to be plentiful buses to explore further afield and there are two funicular lifts to the top of the cliffs for a more scenic view and to visit the castle. Other towns on the south coast may have a better reputation, but I doubt that you'd get a hotel with sea view at such an affordable price and the locals are universally friendly.

Being a resident of Hastings for most of my life, The town like many others has it's up and downs, The area of St Leonards is peppered with bars and eateries as is the Old town of Hastings.
I can't recommend enough an Italian gem La Bella Vista on the seafront of St Leonards.

Hastings always has a lot to offer but going off season means a lot of the places are not open. But there is still plenty to see and do good variety of coffee shops restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. St Leonard’s, Bexhill, Eastbourne and Brighton are all within driving distance. George st has loads of quirky shops to browse in. In peak season the fair ground and amusement arcades are great for the kids. Highly recommended.
Maggies is best for fish & chips
Two bulls for steak. Or go to Bentleys steakhouse in bexhill for the best steak experience plenty of Italian eateries. And there are 3 great wet fish and seafood outlets at Rockanoor

We loved the vibrancy of independent shops and cafes in the Old Town, the mixture of fishing heritage and culture and seaside. Freshly made pizzas created and served with love at Monellis not to be missed.

Lovely seaside town for a day.
Lovely seaside town for a day. But one more day to do The Battle Abbey which is 17 mins train ride and very easy. A few nice restaurants like the Thai in the book shop, Ladle was fantastic and so was the Porters Sunday roast (the veg roast option was delicious). The contemporary art museum had two very good exhibitions, and the shipwreck museum plus the fisherman’s museum were nice to walk through. The local history house is very nice and worth spending 15-30 mins. The book shop (the hare and hawthorn) is lovely.
The breakfast was sumptuous and set us up for the day, especially after an early swim on the last day. The location was just right for us, a beautiful view and near the beach with loads of free parking nearby. And near enough to Hastings and Bexhill to walk or bus. Lots to see and do there.
The Hotel is a large house tastefully updated for comfortable rooms. With more work to be done it'll be even nicer next time.
Shops nearby catered for basic needs. Buses run every 20 mins to Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill.
The hotel location is fantastic- right on the seafront and only a short walk away from all the fun in Hastings.
Breakfast buffet was great, with a lot of choice. Restaurant staff were all very attentive and kind.
Our second room was much better and more quiet after having to change due to being placed next to a lift.
Everything was very clean and reception staff were helpful and happy.
We will definitely stay again.
Stayed at Astral Lodge once before and enjoyed it so thought we'd book again. Excellent beachfront location with short walk to shops, bars, restaurants etc.. It looks like the place has been refurbished a bit so very fresh looking hotel.. Staff very friendly on arrival and departure. No complaints at all and will book again on next trip to Hastings. Highly recommend and good value for money - Well run establishment!!
A lovely large spacious light and airy room in a gorgeous old building. Full of charm, character and original features. Building and room very clean (and smelt lovely). We wanted for nothing. Very convenient central location. Beats the chain hotel I used to stay in whilst in Hastings hands down, and much better value for money. Didn't really miss breakfast on-site as so many options so close by. We will be back!!
The hotel has a nostalgic feel and a time long past but forever captured. Rooms are large and as I was there to meet family I did not spend much time in the bar or lounges. Breakfast was good but prefer service rather than help yourself. Bacon needs to be cooked properly and eggs will get rubbery waiting for guests to arrive for their breakfasts.
Room was cosy, sunny, warm and clean. It was the one with sea view and it was excellent. Location of the hotel is perfect if you like the sea and you need to make many trips all around or you want to have all facilities (pubs, shops, restaurants) at your fingertips. The owners were kind and helpful. I would recommend Alexanders! :-)
The hotel is in a good location. many buses go into Hastings and to other places around Hastings. The railway station is near by. The hotel breakfast was excellent. There is a garden open to guests. I found everyone to be friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. I had a very enjoyable stay.
As I wanted to explore that part of Hastings, the location was ideal. The hotel was immaculately clean. The garden was a suntrap and the road noise was not excessive. The host offered me a room upgrade, which was appreciated. The room I originally booked was very reasonably priced.
Needed an overnight stay to spend some time with my son . Cheaper and more convenient than a hotel without worrying about spending money on eating out . The beds were super comfy and the caravan was spotless. Would definitely stay here again . Thank you so much.
Lovely pub, well positioned in the old town of Hastings, comfortable, clean, good sized room and staff great
Music was an added bonus and one of the reasons we chose to stay on the nights we did and good breakfast at the Land of Green Ginger opposite the pub
This place is one of my go-to hotels in Hastings. It can be relied upon for a safe and comfortable stay, with a dream location and view. Staff are friendly and helpful, and it's proximity to everything fun to do in Hastings is a huge plus.
The hotel was incredible, a really nice and well decorated victorian house. It makes you feel like you're back in the 19th Century. There are so many details, it's just great! The staff was really nice too!
The hotel’s location is great, right next to the Pier and within easy walking distance of both Hastings town centre and St Leonards. It’s a nice place to have a drink and look out over the seafront.
Great hotel - couldn’t ask for more location wise. Bed was super comfy and the room was nice and clean. Staff were really friendly and kind - always happy to help with anything that came up.
Room was well equipped and comfortable. Everything was clean and well presented. The location is ideal for exploring Hastings new town with shopping and restaurants a few minutes away.
One of the only hotels we could find in the Hastings area with a free on site car park.
Breakfast was good with fast service and good COVID booking procedures.
No 46 has very comfortable rooms, clean and welcoming. We have stayed there 3 times now and when visiting Hastings l always check if no 46 is available
