We liked the location, facility inside the hotel, the family suite which was having good privacy. The view outside the room was amazing particularly while enjoying the hot tub. Breakfast was good, we enjoyed every bit of it. Plenty of parking space.

The location was just perfect. It was central for us to adventure out and explore the Lake District. It was also an exciting location for relaxation in the evenings. Lots of fine restaurants and pubs to choose from with a lovely holiday atmosphere abounding everywhere.
Regretfully the car ferry was out of order and not available to us. That was a bit of a nuisance as our touring plans had envisaged that being available. None the less we had a fabulous holiday and were not overly put-out by the loss.

It is so easy going in Bowness we try to come here as often as we can. There’s something to do for everyone young and old. We have a dog now and he’s so relaxed here many places are dog friendly. Bars and restaurants brilliant especially Italians on the Main Street. Our favourite place can’t wait to come back

I liked the Beatrix Potter museum, Holehird Gardens, and Stagshaw gardens, Hayes garden centre up in Ambleside. Booked an amazing day trip with Mountain Goat tours that took us around ten Lakes of the Lake District with our amazing guide Mark Shipley. the restaurants I went to was Francine's up in Windermere, Urban Food House (superb) and the Magic Roundabout. I was within walking distance of everything in Bowness. I probably would avoid booking in the school holidays, was very busy everywhere. the weather was very changeable but it is the wettest area of Great Britain.

Visiting Bowness in November was a great idea.
Visiting Bowness in November was a great idea. I have been in the summer before and it is so busy it is unpleasant and parking is difficult. I would advise visitors to choose a hotel with private parking - preferably free, some charge for parking - leave a car there and walk to town or to the lakeside. Also be aware that Bowness is built on a steep hill and not all roads have pavements.

All three rooms were excellent in size and space, and two of the rooms had a lovely balcony. The staff were friendly and approachable. The restaurant at Burn How is excellent with good variety of breakfast options. The location is superb and within easy reach of town centre as well as the lake. The free parking was just outside the front door of each room and there are two separate entrances to the hotel. There is a lovely garden at the back which allows for a gentle stroll and sitting down with a drink.
The location provided easy access to the main part of town as well as the harbor area. Easy to walk about town for a leisurely stroll. Dining options at the hotel were great - breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of cold foods being available as well as hot foods from the menu. Best full English we had on our trip! Dinner choices were also very good, particularly on the fixed price menu. All in all, we had a lovely stay at the hotel. We would definitely stay again when in the area.
We have just returned (a party of 7) from a 3 night break in the Sandown. The location of the house for Bowness on Windermere is ideal, more than adequate parking for 4 cars,
All 4 bedrooms with en-suite beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, the living area, dining room, and fully equipped kitchen were exceptional. From the initial booking to leaving on our last day, the whole experience was faultless; we will definitely return.
Excellent location and only a short walk to Bowness on Windermere pier as well as the shops and other eateries if you desire. Friendly and helpful staff -we couldn't fault our break. We booked the Deluxe Bay room and it didn't disappoint. A nice large room with a huge comfortable bed and a lovely big bathroom. Good wi fi and parking right next to our property/room. Breakfast excellent choice and very tasty.
Beautiful cottage, comfortable and stylish. Fab location with only a short walk to the lake of Bowness on Windermere and very close to shops, pubs and restaurants. Very well equipped with everything you need for a lovely stay. Enjoyed the garden in the sunshine perfect place to relax and put your feet up whilst having a break from.exploring the Lake District. Its a perfect base.
Karol and Nigel are just out of this world. They are the perfect hosts! Everything was just top notch. A clean, spacious room and bathroom, DELICIOUS brekkie, perfect location - 5 min walk to the lake, restaurants and pubs. Even though the weather wasn't the best, we really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend and hope we're back one day in the future!

Apartment was very comfortable and well equiped. Location was convenient for the centre of Bowness. The 2 en-suite rooms were a bonus and the kitchen facilities were superb. Apartments are set in the grounds of a hotel with beautiful gardens, although we didn't make use of them this time, we certainly would if visiting again in the summer.
Apartment is central to Bowness on Windermere. Although I never actually met Gail, she was very friendly and helpful, and available if needed. The apartment had everything you would expect. Cleaning materials, complimentary toiletries, fully equipped kitchen, a dish washer and washing machine. Lovely place. I would recommend it.
The hotel completely exceeded our expectations. When we arrived, we were greeted by Nick who added so many lovely extras to the place. The beds are extremely comfy and every detail has been well thought of. The hotel itself is in a brilliant location in the heart of Bowness, a 2 minute walk to all the pubs and local shops.
Love how central it is to bowness on Windermere! We walked to one of the local pubs for tea and walked back! Absolutely loved the outdoor facilities, even though it was raining it didn’t matter as we relaxed in the hot tub with a drink watching a film.
Excellent location, rite in the heart of Bowness on Windermere. Room was well laid out and had everything we needed for our stay. Great selection at breakfast and very friendly and efficient staff. Would highly recommend the Angel Inn.
Fantastic location and views from hotel terrace, very clean and staff very helpful.
Decor lovely, although bit blingy in parts. Had an upgrade to a hot tub room as spa was out of action but knew this before we went.
Would return.
The hotel is so friendly and comfortable.Nothing too much trouble. It had been a long time since we visited The Royal Oak and the Lakes. So fabulous to be back .Excellent breakfast and room. Lovely welcoming staff.
The spacious rooms and bathrooms that seem to be recently renovated, magnificent view from the breakfast table onto the lake, location on the lake, excellent dining options.
