To be honest, we made Shrewsbury a stop off point as we travelled to Wales for a weeks cottage holiday. We stopped on the 'way down' and on the 'way back', to break up long journeys.
However, from our two half days in Shrewsbury it looks like a place for longer stays. The museum and art gallery were very interesting. The shopping areas were very good, with a good mix of larger names (M&S, Sea Salt, White Stuff ...) and independents. There were many eating places, but obviously we weren't able to make use of all but two in the town, both of which were very good.
It looks like a place we will return to!

Shrewsbury is a great town to visit which we do several times a year. Summer time is definitely worth a visit but we go all year round and always enjoy ourselves. Full of history, quirky hotels, bars and restaurants and great for shopping. Umai restaurant is outstanding for us food always delicious. A trip on the river boat highly recommended. Several places to park all within a short distance of the centre.

The town is packed full of historic beautiful biuldings Riverside walk is an absolute must... Town centre to Castlefields especially. The Abbey, castle , and lots of one off shops. Hidden in nooks and crannies are such delights as the old post office the old prison and boutiques.
Don't miss The Dingle gardens as you take the walk.

An absolute surprise - we spent all day just walking round Shrewsbury and being delighted by what we found - including the Market Hall which is something we don't see many of in the south of England.

This was our second time in Shrewsbury and still lots to see and do. The prison is a must to visit and is well worth the entrance fee, especially is you do the self guided tour. The majority of the pubs and independant shops are dog friebdly, which is a huge bonus if your four legged friend is with you. The blitz hill museum in Ironbridge is worth a visit. We paid £26.50 each entrance fee but it was well worth the money and ypu could spend all day there looking at and interacting with the exhibits. There are some oldy worldy little streets to walk down and a walk along the river is a must. The darwin trail is well worth doing, very interesting and comoletely free
Everything was great. The room was very comfortable and we appreciated the extra little touches - homemade cookies, hot chocolate and coffee bags next to the kettle. The staff were all lovely. We didn't have dinner at the hotel, but the breakfast was fantastic and really extra - a two course breakfast! And it was included in the price! The location was great too, just outside of Shrewsbury and close to a beautiful National Trust property. We only stayed 1 night but we had a great time here.
Perfect location for our 2 day stay in Shrewsbury.
A very short walk around the corner from shops and main street leading into town centre ; plus across the road was the River Severn and riverside bars and Eateries
The Hotel was clean , the rooms and beds were clean and very comfortable .
All staff friendly , approachable and helpful
Accessible location on the ring road of Shrewsbury. The room was spacious and clean: good for a 2 night stay for a father and child. Although nothing special, breakfast provided all that one needs (english breakfast, pastries, fruit, yoghurt and cereals, coffee machine). Great that the hotel gets EV charging facilities on the parking.
A lovely historical hotel in an excellent location. The staff are very friendly and offer superb customer service, especially the manageress Charlie, who ensured that we had a wonderful stay. Breakfasts are very good, and the staff were very helpful and efficient. Have stayed before and would certainly stay again.
The communication with Steve was excellent. Everything was laid out perfectly. The location was just right, only a 10 minute walk into the town centre. The flat itself was beautiful, far better than any hotel room.
We will definitely use it again when we return to Shrewsbury.
