Peakstones Inn, hotel in Cheadle

Located in Alton, 3.4 miles from Alton Towers, Peakstones Inn has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. This 3-star hotel features free WiFi and a bar.

We stayed in one of the outside brick chalets, and spent the evenings in the Inn bar and it was all very pleasant. The Inn itself is full of the charm you would expect, from it’s location in the rolling hills, and both Margaret, the landlady, and the staff were lovely and charming too. Nothing was too much trouble. We intend to return at a future date.

A small, yet quite lovely little place.

A small, yet quite lovely little place. The thing that makes it is the people. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, a great place! There isn’t an abundance of shops and if you want a quick and cheap bite to eat there are a few weatherspoon/hungry horse type of places around.

A cute village feel with some lovely history and quite a few cute shops. Plenty of choices for take away food locally and our host had thoughtfully left these with our personal welcome note, which was a lovely touch.

We stayed near to Alton Towers, and it was a short drive to the resort. Alton Towers is in the middle of nowhere, and signage sometimes led us part way, and then just stopped. The SatNav lost signal, and Google Maps saved the day. We had a fantastic day - it was our granddaughter's 4th birthday, and her first trip to a theme part. We were lucky with the weather, so couldn't fault anything. The queues for the rides weren't too bad, and as we brought picnics, we didn't need to wait for refreshment.

Booked a hotel in Cheadle as it was close to Alton Castle where we were visiting. Had a meal in the High Street which was fine but not really too much else to do in the area although there is much beautiful countryside if you are a rambler/walker!

Only stayed here overnight enroute to Alton Towers.

Only stayed here overnight enroute to Alton Towers. We weren't impressed with the restaurants there, The Wheatsheaf closed the kitchen early as they ran out of food! By the time we walked to the Hungry Horse they'd also stopped serving food so the only alternatives were takeaways but we had no cutlery to eat it at our guest house - not ideal when you have a tired 5 year old with you. Other than that fine.

Abbey was so helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was spacious, spotless and well looked after. The pub across the road was really convenient and nearby Cheadle was a lovely place to wander around and grab food. Highly recommended. A great place to stay to access this part of the Peak District.

Clean room, warm Stokie welcome, very comfortable bed, excellent location. Set on the edge of town, modern room that's great value. The bed is large and comfortable, bathroom facilities clean and modern. The whole room is a lot nicer than some four star plus boutique hotels we've stayed in ! Well done Abbey.

The hotel was OK the floor boards we're a little creaky and we were concerned about other guests below us . Breakfast was good plenty to choose from . I think this hotel is under new management and the manager lacks experience in how to approach customers.
