Trier is an interesting town, however be aware all the facilities & services you might be familiar with & expecting, may not be available. Such as; taxi, Uber, restaurants open outside of regular hours - these may all be an issue, according to what we experienced.
Some of this was due to Christmas & New Years limited hours and services. Taxis and Uber-type services are an issue, and appear unreliable.

I love Roman history so Trier was a must-see for me.
I love Roman history so Trier was a must-see for me. The main tourist attractions are easily searchable online but the city is small enough to be completely walkable. I was there at the end of November and there were already Christmas markets set up which was fun to walk around - buy the Glühwein (mulled wine) if you're there at that time.
You have to eat at Weinstube Zum Domstein! They have traditional Roman food offerings which were delicious. I loved the meal so much, especially sitting in the Roman Basement (Römer Keller) where they have displayed Roman artifacts. Such a cool dining experience.

Trier is quaint and manageable for a small city. Friendly and hospitable locals. There were enough English-speaking workers in various establishments. I enjoyed the walking trails. The city has a lot to offer for Roman history enthusiasts. It has a far reaching and interesting history as a city in its own right.

Trier is a beautiful town with historical buildings and a lot of interesting things to see and do!
Everything is close together in walking distance!
Nice restaurants with traditional food and friendly service. Lots of shopping options for all wallets and interests. Town maps and signs all over the town are helping to find what you want.
We loved the market squares and the Weinbrunnen in the middle where you get a lovely glass of wine most hours!
This is an well fitted hotel, in the town center, at a walkable distance from the old/touristic zone (as its” name suggests), with a safe parking and a homy breakfast room (and good and various dishes). The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and spotless clean, with comfortable beds. The courtesy of the personnel completed our short but very pleasant stay in the so beautiful town of Trier. With its reach history, Trier deserves at least 2 or 3 days to learn about the two thousands life of the oldest city in Germany.
It’s a lovely hotel in a quiet location with amble parking but it is very popular. My single room was adequate, well furnished with an interesting shower arrangement. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant food is excellent but it is busy so book a table early. It’s about 25 minutes walking to Trier itself. The best bit for me was the on site brewery which makes a range of excellent beers that guests can purchase at good prices.
Staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. Breakfast was typical German breakfast and very good. The accomodation has obviously been updated, but we loved the charm of the original hotel. We stayed because over 20 years ago we lived in Trier and enjoyed the half chicken meals, so we appreciated being able to enjoy our dinner at same location this time as tourists. Car park space was also bonus.
They had the best breakfast of all 12 hotels I used during my trip to Germany. So much to choose from, and so good. As far as location is concerned - just looking out the windows from where the breakfast buffet is - one gets the best picture of the Porta Nigra, one of Trier's main sights, at the beginning of the pedestrian zone. What could be better?
Modern fairly new hotel with very clean rooms. Excellent breakfast buffet and excellent staff.
Room was not big but had everything you need incl flat screen tv and excellent bathroom with walk-in shower. Free parking in front of hotel also. But parking does fill up when hotel is well booked.
The location was excellent! Right in the heart of Trier and extremely close to the city sights- all are within walking distance. The hotel is modern, clean, has comfortable beds and the breakfast was good. I would choose this hotel again due to location and value.
This is an amazing hotel offering great value for money! Free bikes to hire which means you can whizz all over Trier. The hotel also offers free darts, table football and pool. Cheap and convenient parking. Would 10/10 recommend.
The communication from the hotel staff before our arrival was excellent. Very clear instructions on how to get in hotel should we arrive after reception time. Also great Instructions which bus to take from train station.
The hotel room was very good, exactly as seen on the pictures and described in the descriptions. The staff was very helpful and net, and the breakfast was marvelous. All of them on a very friendly price.
The breakfast is very good and you could have a nice view of the city from balcony for breakfast, and the price of hotel is correct, I would like to recommend you this hotel if you want to visit Trier
The staff were very helpful, hotel in a great location for sightseeing in Trier. Good parking with an adequate at an additional charge. Water and soft drinks were available 24/7 at no extra cost.
This is a lovely, quiet and very comfortable hotel conveniently located close to the Porta Nigra. The staff and owners were helpful and friendly. I'll hope to stay again next time I'm in Trier.
Great accomodation for this price. The hotel is situated just in the center of Trier, part of it is very good restaurant and pizzeria. Rooms were clean and nice, stuff friendly and helpful.
The hotel is situated in a green area, close to Trier. So no noise at night, and plenty of free parking space. The breakfast is nice - all you need for a healthy meal. Spacious bathroom.
Good hotel close to the river and sight seeing areas in the old town. We enjoyed breakfast and that there were free bikes you could use to explore around the city.
Nice spacious hotel at the edge of Trier center. Good parking, OK rooms and breakfast. Quiet in night. Friendly reception. Good for family or business travel.
