The charm of this enchanting fairy tale city in the Czech Republic is best experienced during winter when snow covers magical Český Krumlov Castle. Lying along the banks of the Vltava River, the historic old town comes alive during summer when cafes and restaurants overflow with the influx of tourists.
The castle makes an imposing backdrop against narrow cobblestone streets and a mixture of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture in its old buildings. Choose an art gallery, museum or theatre like the 17th-century
Castle Baroque Theatre, located inside the castle’s beautiful gardens.

I loved its architectural features and its wealth of museums. The meanders of the river give it a special charm. The central square(on which the hotel is located) is full of charm and a place of interesting activity.

Picturesque place,.it is a.must to.visit it, it is maybe my fifth time I come as it is a unique.place.
There are many places.to.go.for a walk, you only need to.go.and discover them!
There is an area with supermarkets out of.town but yoi.can go there on foot. However, If you don't have time for that walk, you will find some potraviny shops in town which are open till.late.
It is better to.go.in.summer because everytjing is open all day and you can explore.the place.in the day light.
You will feel you are in a fairy tale

I hope I never have to see Český Krumlov again.
I hope I never have to see Český Krumlov again. If so, I'll stay in a campsite (though the penzion wasn't the problem); much better to visit on a canoe trip. Hideously high prices and and as few locals as in Venice. Gigabites of fake Instagram grins and very little of real interest. The Art Centre was a disappointment with few originals from Egon Schiele but the food: I have never seen so much profiteering with so little by way of quality or service culture. The travel hostel was the exception, though I hesitate to write this down unless it sees fit to gouge prices.
I liked the river and some of the walks. And it irritated me less on a Wednesday when many tourists had left.

In this period of the year the little town is very calmy and silent. Only bad experience that most of the sights and the museum were closed at this time. There not so much to do, I found it very bad from tourist side. Xmas decorations are only now to come, however in the neighborhood in Budovice the main square was full with decoration and Xmas fair. Lot of bars was closed, there was not so much to do there at this time. Thus this the city is wonderful, the castle area geourgeos, but we loved to check the old theatre or the tower.

What a wonderful experience to visit and stay in this charming village. To think just a few months earlier we never even heard of this gem. Such a beautiful place. Visiting in mid-October was perfect after learning that the warmer months get so crowded. We never had an issue with crowds, and oftentimes found ourselves alone, even on the castle grounds. So many great restaurants and shops to patronize and the people so friendly. St. Vitus Church is definitely worth visiting, as well as the synagogue, and of course the castle and grounds. Meander down the small alleys and bridges for beautiful views wherever you look.

Nice place for a couple days off.
Nice place for a couple days off.
Busy with tourists during the day but quiet from the evening.
Prices are cheap but quality is very good.
A nice place to walk around, many small streets, many nice views.
Overall a good place for a stress-free weekend.
We stayed two nights in a superior room. The room is really beautiful, it is spacious and spotless clean. Breakfast which was really good was included. The man at the reception was very helpful and friendly. Best of all is the location - the hotel is right in the old center of Cesky Krumlov. The only small issue was that our room was facing the street and we heard people passing by the whole night when the windows were open. So if you want a quiet room I would suggest a room not facing the street.
This was the best accomodation I ever had in the Czech Republic. It is a nice small pension slightly aside of the main tourist routes but still a few minutes from the castles and from the river. We got the whole attic for us which had a huge bad, nice view of the castle, small kitchen corner and historical furniture giving us the feeling of living like the noble men in the past. It was totally private, all contact with the staff was only by phone.
Pension Krumau has a warm and comfortable feel, with lots of natural wood, a spacious dining area, and ready access to the central old village of Cesky Krumlov. There is plenty of room for beds, clothes, and luggage, plus a modestly sized desk and bathroom. The pension is close to a walking bridge that reaches the nearby town square and, from there, the castle, monastery, and other major sites. Our host was friendly, too, so we felt at home!
We had such a comfortable & relaxing stay! Tom was extremely nice & helpful, he even gave us dinner recommendations upon arrival in the evening. The cost was super affordable & the free parking included was a definite bonus.
Everything to do & see is within 5-10 minutes of walking distance. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a place to stay in Cesky Krumlov.
Wonderful location, the hotel is on the river bank, calm and quiet but very it is close (2 minutes walking) to the center. The breakfast was good with a satisfying choice, and we really appreciated the parking place for the car (in Cesky Krumlov it is crucial). The room was big and the bathroom was huge and clean. So we were happy with everything.
It's the 2nd time we stay at Pension U Zamku, the 1st time was 10 years ago. We love the location, right next to the castle and in the hear of Cesky Krumlov. We were not disappointed with this 2nd stay, everything was perfect, the Pension is very well maintained and clean, spacious room with 2 king size beds as we were travelling with 2 kids.
Beautifully Decorated Room: The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated, creating a pleasant atmosphere during my stay.
Spacious Room: The room offered ample space, providing comfort and room to relax.
Excellent Location: The hotel's central location in Cesky Krumlov is a major advantage, with all attractions within easy reach.
A few days before our arrival, they informed us that they could not provide us with accommodation at Penzion Vltavin. Instead, we got a much higher quality accommodation, in the Hotel Grand, at the same price. The accommodation was perfect, the procedure was extremely fair. Thank You!
This was the best place we have used. The only regret was it was only for one night. The apartment was clean comfortable and nicely appointed. The cast view enhanced the overall feeling of the place. Our second visit to Cesky Krumlov was the best.
We loved that the apartment is located right in the middle of the historical part of Cesky Krumlov. We enjoyed how warm and cozy it was and plan to visit again in the summer when the other part of the castle will be open for visitors again.
- Location in the center of the city: several minutes of walk to the castle, Christmas fair, parks, etc.
- Free entrance to Museum of vltavin for guests of the hotel
- Helpful and friendly lady at the reception
Fantastic location- just few steps from the castle. Beautiful room, comfy beds- we slept so wel! I even could charge my EV (fee applicable).
Český Krumlov is one of my favourite !
Perfect location, quiet and still very close to the town center.
The host is a super nice guy and the hotel a real gem in a historic quarter of Cesky Krumlov.
Fantastic 3 star hotel set in a quiet area of Cesky Krumlov. Staff were outstanding in their attitude and friendliness. As they say in Europe "Super"!!!!!
