Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel, hotel in Hvar

Perfectly located overlooking Hvar city, Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel went complete refurbishment of public areas in 2018.

Ist room was far too small. Nowhere to even put our luggage. Fortunately we were moved to a larger room. Problem #1 was the TV did not work after a day went buy someone came and had to remove the broken TV...he brought a 2nd TV that did not work either...at last TV #3 worked!. 2nd problem was the jacuzzi tub did not work...the faucet came out in my husnands hand. The bathroom is a poor design...water from the shower goes all over the floor. The glass door to bathroom makes a bad noise as the technician said it needs to be repaired. We moved to another hotel and had a much better experience.

FAQs about hotels in Hvar

Echoes of the Age of Empires

Hvar is the largest city on the Croatian island of the same name within the Adriatic Sea. The wildly undulating coastline formed a natural harbour here, a fact which didn’t go unnoticed by the Venetians, who captured it as part of their empire. The Venetian Fortress sits atop a hill and 13th-century ramparts descend to the old town.

Another castle from Napoleonic times is on a different hill offering beautiful views over red roofs towards the offshore Pakleni islands sheltering the port. Ferries link Hvar to neighbouring Brač and Vis islands, Split and Ancona in Italy.

Given the size of the city, the amount of Hvar accommodation is staggering, and Booking.com offers everything from luxury hotels with pools to cheap guest houses and beachfront apartments. Although most beaches are rocky, their scenic setting and warm turquoise waters are still a draw.

At the heart of the city is the largest square in Dalmatia. Restaurants and bars spill out onto its cobbles, ending at St Stephen’s Cathedral with its see-through belltower. Around the same time the cathedral was going up, one of Europe’s oldest theatres was constructed in the waterfront Arsenal. The Loggia is the only remain of the Governor’s Palace, and the Hvar Heritage Museum helps to put all this in context.

    Beautiful old town.

Beautiful old town. Spectacular view of many surrounded island from the Napoleon trail. The city provided plenty of seating benches throughout the city and rural. I visited other towns in this island that have the same relaxing standards. Thanks to the Croatia government. However, October was not a good month to get access to island tours and most restaurants. I was told that April to September is when the businesses open fully.

I only went to the old town, arriving by ferry in the evening. Absolutely beautiful but even in October it was way, way over touristed. I decided to stop contributing to the problem myself by changing my plans and leaving early the next morning.

Hvar is incredibly charming and I wish we could have stayed a few more days. It's a high energy environment with young and older tourists alike, gorgeous historic spots like the Fort and really great shopping (dresses, jewelry, pretty handbags on trend all reasonably priced from a Boston perspective).

Hvar is for you if you love being near the water and sitting in the sunshine. Things i wish I’d taken, more cash, many places operate on a cash only basis and they cash machines charge up to €10 to withdraw from. The cheapest bakeries which are also delicious are near the bus station. Bring insect repellent and insect bite treatments and also bring your own sunscreen as it is incredibly expensive to purchase it on the island. Take shoes you can comfortably walk up and down stairs in and on cobbled streets. Best places to east for me were Kantun, Coffee snob, sweet treats bakery and Fig Hvar.

Hvar has the most beautiful water I have ever seen, if you take a trip with a taxi boat to one of the smaller island, you'll have a wonderful time. There's a nude beach where fortunately not a lot of people go to cause they're scared of nakedness. Its super party touristy in the main town. Rich british boys and old white men.. everything is super expensive. There's no buses driving around the island so you'll have to rent a scooter or walk a long distance.

The location is great so near to the beach and great to have breakfast with a view of the sea!! Staff is super-friendly and parking for your car. Super close to Hvar only 5 min drive! The room we had was huge. We had a balcony view room. The handwritten message finishes it off! It was super they had almond milk at breakfast. Didn’t see that anywhere else at the hotels. Also great that they have towels for free for the beach!

The hotel was great, the bathroom and room where large the outdoor patio was amazing but what made it more amazing were the views. Parking was easy, we were able to shower after are check out time no problem. The women that work there were friendly, informative, kind and great hosts. I will be recommending the property to anyone I know going to Hvar Town. The location was fab and as a woman I felt completely safe!

The location (beautiful walk to town) and views of the hotel are unparalleled. It is amazing value for money. Hotel food is reasonable and ok rather than excellent. I would say it’s like a good four star hotel rather than luxury. Staff were on the whole very nice. It’s very clean. This is our second visit and honestly location wise it’s the best in hvar!

The main thing that stood out was the personell. Everyone who worked there was so exceptionally nice. The quality/friendliness and willingness to help was comparable to 5 star hotels I’ve stayed at around the world. The bedrooms were also really great, I found the bedding to be really comfortable and the view from our room was beautiful!

Lovely family owned property. Petar and his daughter Ana were amazing hosts at this idyllic remote spot near Hvar town. The crystal clear waters gave great opportunity for swimming, cayaking, snorkeling etc. We ate at the hotel 2 nights and enjoyed the BBQ with amazing Dorada and Sea Bream the first night and turbot on the 2nd.
