Our 4th floor room had a beautiful, ocean view. In fact, my favorite part of this hotel was the location, right off the beach with instant access to the bus lines right off Rua Paciencia (Patience Street). A short walk takes you to the town plaza for food options, or to Patience Beach, which is well worth it. The room was simple and clean, and what a bargain !

Salvador is fascinating and interesting for all the reasons you probably already know. There is much to do and see.
The only downsides are the high humidity and heat which makes day time explorations a bit taxing and safety issues. I found the main tourist locations to be well policed and safe, but if you stray from these you must be very careful. Ideally be in the company of local Brazilians who can help navigate the city safely.
I loved Casa da Mae in Rio Vermelho, great atmosphere, awesome music, nice food and safe.
I found the local people more reserved and more challenging to connect with than in Sao Paulo. I sense this is due to the 'tourist' nature of the city.

Carnival in Salvador, Bahia is a must!
Carnival in Salvador, Bahia is a must! You'll have to experience it for yourself. My favorite town was Rio Verlehmo, Ubers are affordable, and motorbikes, are the way to go. I enjoyed walking, you get to experience more of their stores, restaurants.

Salvador is an incredible place.
Salvador is an incredible place. Lots of history, culture and friendly people. Would definitely recommend as a destination. Just be sure to have some basic Brazilian Portuguese phrases handy, as English is not widely spoken at all.

We were warned by everyone, including hotel staff and friends, that Salvador is a dangerous place. This made it difficult for us to enjoy the city's beauty without any concerns. However, we decided to take a City Tour with a group to learn more about the city and identify the places we wanted to visit again. The city tour gave us a better understanding of the city, which helped us appreciate it more. Go to Pelourinho, Igreja do Bonfim and Farol da Barra.

We had an idea that this place was beautiful, but it exceeded our expectations. Every street made beuatiful pictures, there was a lot of history, music and dancing. At first, the hsitorical area felt very touristy but there are ways to get a more authentic experience. We will recommend to all of our friends traveling in Brazil to make a stop in Salvador.
The breakfast was the best thing about this hotel. Tasteful, local, diverse and changes everyday, we loved it.
The location in Rio Vermelho is great with many restaurants and bar nearby. Also safe to walk at night so that was a big PRO. The hotel, although nice, was not exactly as the pictures showed but we still enjoyed spending time there very much.
Also the staff of ''Prive Turismo'' Rose, was very friendly and helped us chose interesting tours to do while in Salvador.
Very friendly staff. Wonderful, generous breakfast on a beautiful patio/ common area with lots of delicious options, and staff is very accommodating to dietary needs. Fantastic AC and the rooms seemed very soundproof, which is always appreciated. Smart TV and fridge/ freezer are a plus. The pousada feels very secure and has a great location with access to local bodegas and a 10-minute walk to one of the nicer beaches in Salvador (Praia da Barra)
I have no bad things to say about the hotel. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable, breakfast is more than great (and you can enjoy it by the pool), the pool is good with a bar nearby and the location is just perfect: in a safe neighborhood that is busy with bars and restaurantes within walking distance, right on the beach and just an Uber away from the main attraction. I highly recommend this hotel for those visiting Salvador!
Had an absolute wonderful stay here in Salvador. The hotel property is very well kept and beautiful inside. The receptionists are incredibly kind and gave me great tips while helping me with my Portuguese. Both my arrival and departure were at early morning hours and they accommodated me so generously while even having breakfast for me ready when I left for a 3 am departure. Will stay here again when I come back in the future.
The hotel was built in 1950, very high style , the best of mid century design . Many original furnishings Very clean property and generally well maintained . Excellent staff .
Lovely generous buffet breakfast . Attractive pool area , when in use .
Location mid way between Barra and the old town . Convenient by taxi in Uber .
Spacious room , comfortable bed . Great AC . Black out curtains . Open view ( 10 th floor )
fantastic location in old colonial building in Pelourinho! you can reach all places by walk in centro. Claudio his uncle and father running the place and they doing great job. Very nice breakfast served on the terrace with view of Bahia and ilha Itaparica. Breakfast was tasty n rich with lot of fruits and great coffee. Good value for money, welcoming people around you. We would stay even longer but hotel was fully booked.
The best of this hotel was the personnel and the room. Breakfast is too local, and Bahia gastronomy is very particular. Dining options at the hotel are limited, the menus need some revamping. The best from the bar menu is a meat sandwich with melted cheese. The room is modern and comfortable, AC works great. Sometimes is could be a bit noisy at night but this is due to live concerts in the surroundings.
horrible ridiculous hotel, horrible bed, dirty mattresses, small bathroom, broken toilet lid, when we take a shower the bathroom gets everything wet, there are no closets in the room, there are no phones to call reception, there is no water or products in the freezer, horrible television , only one receptionist was pleasant.....very bad, I will never go again and I don't recommend it to anyone
Fantastic property with beautiful view of the ocean and the city. Everything was clean and felt fairly new. Very comfortable bed and large room. Pool area was great as well with wonderful drinks and service and of course an amazing view. Also had a great view right from our room. Breakfast was great and right below the hotel is an area with several restaurants and live music.
Fantastic hotel in Salvador Bahia, very clean and comfortable, grate breakfast, tasty food, excellent restaurant in the property, outdoor swimming pool and sunbath facilities, quiet place, huge park, fitness.
Friendly and efficient staff! Beds are fantastic, you may choose from pillow menu.
I have been in room 820 - great ocean view!
Will visit again next year!
I DO NOT recommend this hotel to Nobody.
We arrived Saturday afternoon and the receptionist men was the rudest person we have meet in Salvador. All the situation of booking and payment was an unpleasant situation. The only staff nicer was one guy (indígena looking), the night receptionist and the gentleman in the breakfast.
The hotel was great, perfect location near Salvador Shopping, near the beach, great pool, great breakfast, and an amazing staff! It was definitely a great value for the money, I would recommend staying here. I will definitely be staying here next time I return to Salvador!
The hotel is nice and cozy, amazing breakfast - everything fresh ans delicious -, and very welcoming staff (thank you Leticia!).
The rooms are minimalistic and overall comfortable. The location is quite close to the Barra’s lighthouse (Farol da Barra).
This really is a lovely property, and I was glad to return 15 years after my last visit. The traditional Brazilian breakfast is very well-done. The artistic use of tile, and original works of art by local luminaries in the lobby add an element of charm.
Love the decoration of the hotel it’s stunning
The rooftop pool with the view of baia bay and the sunset there it’s magical
The food at omi restaurant and the superb breakfast
I can’t wait to Return again to Salvador to stay at this beautiful place
- Comfortable bed, spacious and clean room
- The hotel building and areas are nice, with a pleasant pool and garden
- They let us enjoy the facilities for a few hours after our checkout and provided us towels for a quick shower before our flight
Very comfortable and well kept hotel. Friendly staff and excellent grounds.
One of the best hotels i stayed in Salvador. highly recommend if you can afford to stay a bit away from the city center.
Very good location next to the beach and supermarket close by. Quite secure and close to every neighborhood in Salvador. Very nice staff. I would certainly return again. Very nice breakfast
A lovely Pousada in a great location in Salvador close to the beach. The hotel is peaceful with friendly staff and a generous breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay!
