Landshut is a lovely Bavarian town on the banks of the Isar River. It has a lovely main street with many options for shopping and dining to meet all your desires. The Isar offers lovely walks along the riverside with beautiful views and nature sightings including the beavers that are settling in.

Lovely and romantic little town, easily travelled from Munich by train. Not much to do once you visited the castle and a couple of museums, but then again, the charm of this place resides in the atmosphere of it's streets, cafés and terrasses of the old town. We spent only two full days there and every single person we met was extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend, however, to brush up on your German language before you go as, aside from the staple restaurants and hotel, not too many people spoke English... Fabulous historic town; very friendly and helpful locals, who are very proud of their history. The fortress is a must; it only takes about 20 minutes to walk up to from the city centre. Great food, both in pubs and fine dining restaurants. Generous portions. Great cake shops. Great shopping.

The breakfast buffet has a large variety of food options, and the breakfast room has great views of the Isar river, Trausnitz castle, and St Martin church. Great location near the historic old town. I stayed in this hotel before and didn't hesitate to book it again, this time for a stay with my family. We got two rooms right next to each other, which was very convenient.
