Top Star Saariselkä - Arctic Glass Cubes, hotel in Saariselka

Top Star Saariselkä - Arctic Glass Cubes is located in Saariselkä on the slope of Kaunispää fell. This 4-star hotel offers ski-to-door access.

The location is perfect to see the Northern Lights. We saw it twice right from our cabin. The location was also very near the ski lifts and tobogganing slopes. We also appreciated the fully-equipped kitchen and clothes dryer that could warm your clothes on a very cold day! The heated glass roofs also ensured we always had a clear view of the sky. We walked down town (about 25 minutes slow walk) to get groceries to cook, though the uphill could be a challenge. The personal sauna was a bonus. We booked the taxi airport transfer through the property and the lady was great. She helped us with our luggage and opened the doors for us, which was very helpful since it was a self check-in property and it's not always easy figuring things out in the cold!

Wilderness Hotel Muotka & Igloos, hotel in Saariselka

Located in Saariselkä, Wilderness Hotel Muotka & Igloos offers a wide selection of different accommodations.

It was the best decision to stay at this property far away in the wilderness. We opted for half board (food was delicious) and all activities offered by the resort and it made our stay super convenient and memorable. Highly recommend this property and their activities.

Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort - Igloos and Chalets, hotel in Saariselka

Surrounded by nature, this unique property is located in the Saariselkä Fell region of Finnish Lapland.

Experience of Igloo stay was as expected. Room & Bathroom too small. Not even a proper mirror in the room/bathroom. Resort location is quite good - just off the main road and very short walk from bus station.

Kuukkeli Apartments Tokka, hotel in Saariselka

Located 984 feet from the center of Saariselkä, these compact apartments feature direct access to cross-country skiing trails, a private terrace and a convenient drying cabinet for ski gear.

The accommodations were fantastic. The kitchen was extremely efficient and well equipped; the grocery store had surprisingly good produce for being so far north; the skiing was really fun despite the cold; the sauna was well maintained and beautiful with great showers too and had private rotating times and collective times later in the evening. The key pickup was very efficient, having arrived before 9 PM. The check-in desk is in the back of the grocery store, which was a little tough to find initially, but people are very friendly and helped guide me to it. I highly recommend the area, too, which has a lot of charm with happy families, plenty to do, and beautiful scenery.

If you're going skiing, Saariselkä is a good option and you can stay there for a week, for example. If you are looking for the Northern Lights, maybe 3 nights would be ok, but you you should pray for good weather, with clear skies, and , of course, for the aurora to appear.

Saariselka has everything you need for a winter lapland trip! The ski resort is at walking distance, there are more than three DMC's to chose from when booking trips, there are plenty of restaurants and pubs. THe supermarket is big for a small town and offers all you need. Note that you can't buy wine in the supermarket but there's a small store next to it called Alko where you can pick up a bottle of wine.

It is a small and quiet town. Air is very fresh. Trees with snow on it are very beautiful. You can have many snow activities here. If you stay several days and the weather is good, you may have opportunity to see Aurora. Bus is very convenient. You can go from Rovaniemi. You can also take bus to Ivalo and Ivalo airport. Restaurants are very good in this small town.

You can do many activities - skiing, biking, hiking, relaxing, observing, and enjoying Lapland nature. You have a big chance to see the Aurora Borealis. There is a very comfortable and understandable system of day huts and wilderness huts with essential equipment in and out of the national park — an excellent place for people who love nature.

Our stay here was everything we could’ve wanted and more! The hotel is very nice and had everything we needed, including activities like snowmobiling. the location is prime - it’s close enough to the village and in a good spot to potentially see the northern lights. The staff was exceptional, as was the breakfast! The Aurora cabin itself was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for! The snowy landscape was breathtaking of course, and the design of the whole hotel compliments it well.

This is a beautiful property, just outside the centre of Saariselka. Upon arrival we found it had everything we could possibly need and more! It was warm, cosy, clean and absolutely perfect for our stay. The sauna was amazing to relax in after being out in the snow all day and the addition of a Christmas tree was a much welcomed bonus! Surrounded by stunning scenery and just a 10 minute walk into town and to the shops etc. We loved everything about it and would 100% stay again!

The room, the view and the Jacuzzi were even better than advertised, but the thing that stood out was how incredibly helpful the staff was. Juuso helped us with everything we could've needed and more: setting up the room in a particular way, driving us to places, even showing us around Saariselka. Maybe I'm biased because I proposed on this trip, but this was the best hotel I've ever stayed at. Get the Jacuzzi place! Absolutely worth every penny.

This villa offers everything you need for a cozy stay, including a spacious sauna, wood burning fireplace, full kitchen, comfortable beds and a stand-up dryer to handle.not only.your laundry, but to quickly dry your snow gear after a day on the slopes or trails. The bedrooms are actually much bigger than anything we've seen yet in Lapland and have very nice storage space included.

The apartment is exactly as advertised and more! Great location, convenient and well equipped! Easy car park, shops, restaurants within walking distance, yet quiet and in the middle of Lappish nature. Clearly, the hosts are passionate about Lapland and want to share this with their visitors. It made us feel very welcome and as if we were home, away from home.

It’s a compact but very comfortable and well equipped apartment in a good location to walk to the market, restaurants, ski park, Husky & Co., Lapland safaris, etc. for all the activities. The large dryer was a great addition to help all the layers dry out by morning. Sauna in the bathroom also very nice.
