Salt Lake City is the surprisingly green Utah capital between the mighty Wasatch Mountain Range and the Great Salt Lake. Aside from skyscrapers housing industrial banks, the skyline is dominated by monuments of the Church of the Latter-Day Saints which is headquartered here.
A church member, Brigham Young, founded the city in what is now This Is The Place Heritage Park. A tower sculpture commemorates the settlers’ trek across America by handcart, an example of which is in the Pioneer Memorial Museum. Walled Temple Square has the main Mormon sights: the Temple is only visitable by members, but anyone can listen to the famous Tabernacle choir.
The State Capitol sits majestically on top of a hill with views of peaks offering winter skiing and summer hiking. The city hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics and one venue was the Olympic Cauldron Park within the University of Utah, also home of the Fine Art Museum and Natural History Museum.
The Gilgal Sculpture Garden is a more unusual Salt Lake City attraction and down the road is the Trolley Square Mall. More branded stores are in the Gateway District, while Sugar House is more trendy and eclectic.
Booking.com’s accommodation options include hotels with hot tubs, motels allowing pets and cheap apartments near Salt Lake City Airport.

We ate at Cafe Molise, an Italian restaurant located within walking distance of the Little America. The salmon was “to-die-for” and the in-house, homemade gnocchi in light, creamy basil sauce with pine nuts was the bomb. Cool atmosphere! Our room was super comfortable with ample space in bathroom and sitting area. We loved having two separate vanities. It was a lovely, upscale place to stay right downtown. Hale Centre Theatre 🎭 in Sandy was excellent. We really enjoyed the professional rendition of “Fiddler on the Roof”. Impressive theatre. Skiing is fantastic and close!

We spent most of the time at the Salt Palace for an Outdoor Expo, which was wonderful. The downtown area had a diversified selection of restaurants and most all were great! Downtown still had Christmas lights in mid February, which made it festive in one of the dullest months.
Overall, the city was clean even though there is a large homeless population that occupied one section of the city. With that being said, there wasn’t really any issues that normally come with that.
Salt Lake City has a lot of concerts, professional basketball and many trade expos in addition to a great choice of restaurants and night life.

SLC was just a layover - flew in/out to drive to Moab.
SLC was just a layover - flew in/out to drive to Moab. We spent an afternoon walking around Temple Square (interesting) and the immediate neighborhood. Fair number of restaurants (and even a cocktail bar!) in walking distance. Also a couple museums we didn't have time to visit. Went to Great Salt Lake State Park before heading to airport. Stop in the Visitor's Center. Highly recommend coffee and breakfast sandwiches at Cupla Coffee on W 200 South and Pago on S 900 E for dinner. *Note: I truly don't understand the street naming system!!

I was mostly in the Convention Center which was nice.
I was mostly in the Convention Center which was nice. Temperature in the Center was awesome. I ate at Fat Jack's Burger Emporium. It was ok. Nothig too special. Not many food chpices that didn't include spicy seasonings. I also ate at Brio Italian restaurant. The food was very good and the prices were not too pricey.
I stood at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel. In the evening many drug addicts would roam around and the homeless would go into the hotel to use the lobby bathroom, but the Hotel outside doors locked at 11pm and no one could get in without a room key.

Bookings.
Bookings. You asked me to review Bposhtels, but this survey is about the city of Salt Lake.
You did NOTHING for me I spent three times the amount of money I planned to spend on accomodations because of the proprietor's misrepresentation and business structure that obscures their responsibilities. I would NEVER stay there again and I do not want to use bookings ever again
There is no need booking a hotel, book this property and you will never regret it. If you are travelling with family, this will be an excellent accommodation choice. It is in a prime area. Quiet location, clean unit, beautiful decor, comfortable bedding plus you get the bedroom and sitting room all to yourself. It offers kitchen gadgets, basic spices for simple meals, green tea, and even coffee. I am truly impressed and if anything brings me back to Salt Lake City, I will consider staying with them.
Nice and simple rooms that looked clean. Nothing to complain about regarding the facilities. We did not use the outdoor pool, though. The hotel is at a location close to the temple district. You need to walk through a rather dull area of two blocks before you get there, but it's very close. The suite we had was (just) large enough for a family of 6. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff at the reception. WiFi worked well.
Room was excellent! Expected noise from the airport nearby but was none which was a plus. My business was in the downtown area so I had a little bit of a drive daily into town in heavy traffic but it all worked out okay. It certainly beat paying the price of hotels downtown. Overall, I was very pleased and look forward to returning again in the future.
The hotel is beautiful, it is old and classic so the rooms are VERY small, which isn't a huge deal. I love that you have a breakfast and dinner spot right next door so it is very convenient and they are both delicious! It is also located right downtown so you can get to anywhere you want. We rode scooters through the city!
Reliable Airport Shuttle & helpful, polite staff at reception. Economical Price for an overnight stay near the airport. Restaurant & bar on premises which is good because the property is in a desolate, industrial area with no other options for dining if you don't have a car. There is a microwave and fridge in the rooms.
The female receptionist in the morning was friendly & helpful, allowing me to store my case at the hotel before my check in, to save me having to drag it around with me.
Room was clean, bed comfortable.
Location is good, close to the main downtown attractions
I chose Best Western Plus Airport Inn & Suites as it was close to the airport for an early flight. The room was large and well appointed with a comfortable bed. There is a gas station close by to fill the rental prior to returning to the airport.
Great facilities. Very professional staff. Room was updated and clean. Plenty of parking in the hotel. The location was in the middle of downtown. Many attractions near walking distance. Inside the hotel, the restaurants were very nice as well.
We just needed a last minute room due to missing a flight connection. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and since we had to leave before the free airport shuttle started running in the morning, the hotel paid for a taxi for us.
Grand America and Little America is always a cozy stay for my wife and I when we want a little trip to Salt Lake City. It is nice how quiet it is but also right on the tracks to get to downtown like Temple Square and City Creek.
I booked the hotel because they would take us to the airport in the morning....early! Our driver was superb! Even though he knew he was not supposed to , he dropped us off at the wheelchair entrance. (We both needed them!)
Great price for a downtown hotel. The simple room had everything I needed, and desk staff was efficient and friendly. Well maintained for an older hotel. Parking was easy and inexpensive, and the airport was only 15min away.
Very close to the airport, the room was nice and comfortable, breakfast we did not have breakfast in the hotel, there is a pub cross the rd of the hotel, which make it handy.
The Breakfast was very good; the location very close to downtown and was easy to attend the conference, and the hotel is 5 min from the airport; free ride to the airport
The room was fantastic and the rooftop pool was amazing - great views and great location about 20 minute walk to downtown area. The hotel was spotless!
