Residence Inn by Marriott Fort Walton Beach, hotel in Mary Esther

Located within 2.3 miles of Fort Walton Beach Park and a 9-minute walk of Emerald Coast Science Center, Residence Inn by Marriott Fort Walton Beach has rooms in Fort Walton Beach.

What is there not to love about this property… the staff amazing- so friendly/helpful and aim to please. The facility clean, the lobby has a ton of seating for lounging and eating, the outdoor waterfront area was my absolute favorite spot such a peaceful and tranquil area with covered and uncovered seating. Love there is a fire pit for those chilly mornings and nights. We booked a deluxe balcony suite which is perfect for families and can sleep 6 with the pull out couch. Plenty of room if needed to throw down an air mattress. Love the balcony overlooking the water. Bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was actually clean upon arrival and very spacious the entire room was actually. Location was great too. Love they allow pets- wish I brought my fur baby… maybe next time!

They advertise for breakfast but they never served any.

They advertise for breakfast but they never served any. You aren't allowed to even get coffee until 6:30 and even then, they only make three pots. So if you miss out, you just miss out. They also advertise for a pool and you cant swim in it. There's no hair dryer. Prostitutes hang out and knock on the doors at all hours of the night. We booked a 2 bed 4 person room and they only gave us ome bed and then when we asked for a double bed, it was going to be a $100 upcharge. We asked for a cancellation after being told it would be free and still told us we would have to pay for the first night. They double charged me and when I asked for it to be fixed they told me that I had to take it up with my bank. They also wont give you a receipt until after you check out. The sheets were severely stained and the fromt desk staff was not friendly. We will never stay there again nor would we advertise for it.

    It was too overcrowded.

It was too overcrowded. The beach was only a few minutes away. It took a long time to get there because the traffic is so backed up and it barely moves. I am not exaggerating either. The traffic was so bad and that it was hard to just find a place to eat. Plus, with the pandemic, we did not know which restaurants were closed and which ones were open. We looked up restaurants on google and google would show the restaurants open but when we would get there the restaurant would be closed because of covid-19. The restaurants in that area really need to update their information on the internet for travelers.
