Had a very nice time here at the guesthouse. Great way to truly experience Pakse. Spent afternoons in the ac room. Could walk to town center or tuktuk. Tina was fun to talk with and hung out with her and some of her friends one of the nights and felt very welcome. Will return!

We had an interior room. It was very quiet, firm mattress, an actual shower (with door), and great breakfast. Enjoyed our stay, but it was a little more expensive than comparable places.

Clean, receptionist available at all times, very nice staff. Helped me with a ticket to Savannakhet at a good price and relatively comfortable van. Good Wi-Fi.
Pakse is a small, dirty town without a clear center.
Pakse is a small, dirty town without a clear center. Few good restaurants, and few people speak English. You have to have a scooter to get anywhere. There are interesting places in the area but not many of them are properly developed. Rather, their best years are behind them. On my next visit to Pakse would like to avoid Pakse city.

Unfortunately I was only in Pakse for 1 night. The city has lots to do and lots to offer, however isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing. Many come here to do the Pakse loop which is supposed to be great.

I have been to Pakse a number of times, it backs onto the majestic Mekong River. I can thoroughly recommend both the Champasak Grand Hotel and the Pakse Hotel. There is a lovely market located in the centre of the town where you can buy nearly anything.

Decent restaurants and good to get convenience items, but not much to do directly in the town. Good hub for day-trips via motorcycle or tour, but expect to get really dirty if you do them via motorcycle as only the very largest of the main roads are paved outside of the town.
Not much nature nearby, all flat areas have been cleared and converted to farmland. It takes a bit of work to get to areas with a bit of nature, but it's nice once you do so. Once you're out of the town the small villages vary from somewhat picturesque and mostly traditional to modern cement. Definitely worth exploring the countryside via motorcycle.
Waterfalls are nice, but can be a bit crowded (by local standards).

We chose the more expensive 4,000 island tour expecting to see more. We spent 5 minutes at 2 waterfalls, which are impressive, in an 11 hour day and that was it! The rest of the day, 10hrs and 50 minutes was spent waiting for, or sitting on, old buses and vans.
The much cheaper Bolonan plateau would have shown us villages, crafts and agriculture and been much better.
Best stay EVER!
They let me check-in at 9am after my sleeper bus!
The bed was very comfy, even with a mixt 10 beds dorm I slept like a baby. Loved the curtains, towel, free ice-cream everyday !!!
The bathroom right outside the dorm was perfect. Sewing kit to fix your clothes if you need.
Everything was clean.
The receptionist is a fabulous lady, always lovely, smiling, ready to help. She gave me some food for my 12 hours bus to siem reap. That I booked with the hostel for cheaper than 12go by the way!
Best place in Laos.
I will start by saying that the owner of the resort is simply amazing. Ngoc is very helpful, and an amazing cook. She was able to assist us with many things, bus, scooter renting. The place is very nice even if not in the city center, but to be honest that did not affect us at all, also because Ngoc is always available and can contact a tuk tuk for you. I definitely recommend the place and I hope to go back soon to enjoy the rice soup in the morning for breakfast in the beautiful garden.
Overall the family in charge of the place made their best efforts to make us enjoy our stay at the resort. The hotel is tucked away from the city center of Pakse just a street off the main road but quiet to enjoy relaxing without the nose of the city. The rooms are nice enough even though for the price the bathroom could be better. The food, breakfast, lunch and dinner alike, that are made by the family are simply delicious and absolutely worth a try. Wifi was also good during our stay.
This is a great place to stay, if you get an AC room it's a small studio apartment size place with a full bathroom large bed. The guy working there is not Laos but speaks the language and is a GREAT help for finding things around town or getting tickets to your next stop.
If you have what app he'll even message you all the places to be and go, even some that are not commonly found on tour sites.
Very friendly and helpful owners. I just spent 1 night there, but it really felt homey and it was easy to connect with other travelers. There're shops and restaurants nearby, and the guesthouse is also about to launch its own yummy menu. If you're in the area, it's definitely a great choice for a couple of budget nights in a welcoming and warm atmosphere.
This was our second stay in Pakse Hotel. The room and bathroom had been renovated which was a welcome surprise. The breakfast is still very good and lobby well designed. Staff is still friendly and a great view from the rooftop bar and restaurant. Pakse Hotel is centrally located. Excellent value for money. It was nice to be back in Pakse and Pakse Hotel.
This place is just amazing. the staff makes you feel like home. The sheets smells so good, that it makes you want to stay forever! i highly recommend it to everyone who want to stay in Pakse. they let you leave your bag in the hostel for the looping, they give you tips about everything. the breakfast is amazing.
The location is excellent - very close to the bus station and several great restaurants. The Hostel is super clean, all staff are very friendly and helpful. Staff arranged our ticket onward for a better price than the hotel around the corner. We can recommend it, but wouldn't want to stay in the room we had.
Lovely staff, lovely pool right outside our door. Was well needed after a long drive
The staff couldn’t do enough for you, ordering pizzas in as most places were closed for Laos new year
Would highly recommend and definitely stay again if we are lucky enough to visit Laos
Great location by the river and an easy walk to the older parts of Pakse. Staff were charming and obliging, room was comfortable and spacious and beds very good. Breakfast was first class with a wide selection of dishes. Highly recommended and good value.
The staff was wonderful. American breakfast was fantastic and the rooms and pool were clean. I love how quaint their lobby is. They had a shuttle bus in the evening that took you to your favorite restaurant and picked you up for free, that was the best part!
A beautiful old colonial hotel well managed to an excellent standard. Hotel slowly being refurbished it will take time. Food on rooftop perfect realistic price wines cannot fault anything. Spotlessly clean throughout. Highly recommend. Breakfast outstanding.
It was a bit more expensive than most places in Laos, but you get what you pay for. Really nice and modern facilities and probably the most comfortable bed in Laos I slept in. One staff member speaks English really well and was very helpful.
Spacious room with a giant bed, balcony and river view. I was very comfortable in the room, the breakfast was decent, the hotel modern. Decent wifi. Moderately priced. Large windows that you can actually open.
Back again for a third night after completing the loop. I still love the place and I highly recommend this guesthouse. Tina is so helpful and this time organised a tuk tuk to the airport. A great stay.
