The room was very spacious and private, and the beds were very comfortable. The owner included lots of amenities and nice quality dishes and towels. He also provided nice bread, local marmalade and coffee for breakfast. Lived the area and was in walking distance of some good Okonomiyaki restaurants!

Quaint little town - lots of small, independent shops. Feels like you are stepping back in time. Everyone we met was very friendly. Perfect base for starting the Shimanino cycle ride across nearby islands. Good bike hire at docks.

Onomichi is easily one of the best places I've ever been to. There is so much beautiful scenery and so many hidden gems to enjoy. The people are marvelous and the food is amazing. And of course the great many cats to be seen make for a truly magical experience

My favourite place is the observation deck on the top of the mountain, which has a great view. You can take beautiful pictures of this city. For food, Onomichi Ramen is fatty for me, but there are other restaurants in city which have their own specialties. A city walk is recommended, since there are a lot of temples on the mountain, and you need to get there on foot, and explore their beauty. I will prepare a better shoes for the next trip and bring less item with me next time, because the tour on in the city requires a lot of physical strength.

For many Onomichi is the start of the Shimanami Kaido cycle route, but Onomichi has enough attractions that it is worth staying at least one day to look around. The Temple Walk is worth viewing the 25 temples along the route and the view from the top is great, and Cat Alley is great fun. A walk along the pier and having a snack or meal at one of the restaurants there is pleasant.

Onomichi is a nice seaside, port town and has a good vibe.
Onomichi is a nice seaside, port town and has a good vibe. Its the start, or end, of the Shimanami Kaido and attracts many people keen to do this cycling route. The town has a nice atmosphere as the people are friendly, helpful and accommodating. If I was keen I'd stay an extra day amd do the temple walking route as it seemed nice and went into the hills above town. Local ramen was demand served by super friendly hosts in the restaurants.

If you want to cycle the Shimanami Kaidou, be s7re to arrive early in Onomichi, since you are able to visit the main attractions, being Senkou-ji and the old temple course, in a few hours. After this you should be able to start cycling the Shimanami Kaidou.
Great location for the Shimanami Kaido. Great atmosphere -- funky converted warehouse now with hotel, restaurant, cafe, a couple of shops and food emporium. There's also washer/dryers and free coffee in the laundry area. There's plenty of space in the bathroom for all your toiletries and in the room for all your stuff; the beds are comfortable and have good reading lights. The restaurant served up very good dinners and breakfast, although more Western with a Japanese twist than Japanese.
Location is great, it's right by the water. We actually were on our bicycles to get there and no problem locating the hotel. There's plenty of parking spaces in front of the hotel, if you come by car. Facilities are great. We stayed in shared dorm using shared bathroom which is no issue for us at all. Bunk bed is quite comfy and quiet at night. Bathroom is squeaky clean, very very clean! We love everything here and will definitely plan a trip to stay here again!
You can't beat this place on location full stop. You tap your IC card at the station and the stairs/elevator are right there to the hotel on the floor above. Don't worry about noise we could see down the station platform from our room and never heard a train. Once you do leave the hotel there are food, bike hire and ferry within a few 100m of the hotel. Sad we only had the one night.
Staff were amazing. Private onsen/hot bath was great.
Very close to the station, very close to the ferry port, very close to bicycle rental. If you use the hotel as a starting point, this is a good choice. There are coin-operated washing machines and dryers, which are helpful for tourists on bicycle tours. I lived here for six days and five nights, traveling from Onomichi to Miyajima, Hiroshima City, Kure City, Fukuyama City Tomo no Ura, Shimanami Kaido, and Takehara City.
The building has been beautifully restored. The details were exceptional. Lots of thoughtful touches for guests and the host has left details on how to discover Onomichi as well as local artists, eating places and crafts people. This is a must for lovers of cinema as the property has a history with filmmakers. Staying here was the highlight of our journey through Japan!
Location short walk from railway station
All staff super friendly ,a big thank you to Chika for making us so welcome, always a big smile
We left our bags at the hotel whilst we did the cycle route overnight
Rooms very clean and modern
Nice touch was free coffee, water in reception
Onomichi was a welcomed break after Tokyo and Kyoto, chilled out place
Mange Tak Resort was beautiful. The rooms were big and cozy, beds comfortable, and bathroom very nice. Turns out I'm a big fan of Onomichi! Location is great, and the nice man working gave me a great recommendation for Okonomiyaki just a walk away. Very friendly place, people, and atmosphere. Also check out Ubeke in Onomichi! Both were delicious.
We had a very comfortable and spacious room with a much appreciated Japanese style. The room was quiet with good beds. The onsen was very modern, tastefully decorated and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located right on the Shimanami Kaido cycling route. The included breakfast at a nearby restaurant was delicious!
Our stay in Onomichi View Hotel Seize was great! We only stayed for a night but everything was great! The staff are very friendly and helpful! They picked us up and brought us back to the train station! The view from the room is amazing! Nice quiet neighborhood close to sightseeing places! Would definitely come back :)
We rode the Shimanami Kaido. This hotel is near the Onominchi side. Very clean. The owner met us when we rode up and helped us find food and even gave us chopsticks when we got back from buying food and realized we had nothing to eat with. Water boiler and refrigerator. Great view. Balcony. Off the path so very quiet.
Very good location not far from station and bicycle hire. It is almost possible to walk undercover to hotel along arcade from station. Late check out, bags can be stored before check in. Large space in Sea view room. Cheaper than most places in Onomichi ( certainly those close to station ).
The cleanliness of the hotel, the friendliness of the staff, and the location (very close to the station, right on the water and close to restaurants/shops) all exceeded my expectations. Perfect for my short stay in Onomichi to do a bike tour.
The hotel/hostel has a very nice design and is in an excellent location. Convenient and with nice surroundings. The dorm bed pods are large with ample room for bags. Staff were all very nice. Didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked good.
The room was super pretty, and the shower pressure and provided soaps were nice. The surrounding area is full of cute shops and restaurants, we had a great time exploring at night and in the morning. I want to come to Onomichi again!
Short walk from train station. Large room with good sized bed. Room is very clean, view is wonderful and hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. Washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave are available. Highly recommended.
A beautiful hotel, perfectly located within easy walking distance of the train station and bicycle hire. Lovely room and bar area. Food was very good also. Would highly recommend.
