The peacock garden is such a unique experience. We loved the different areas to eat meals - breakfast in a cozy cottage building overlooking the peacock garden, and lunch and dinner in a different beautiful building overlooking the garden. The staff went above and beyond to assist us when our luggage was delayed. Each night we returned to our room to find turndown service and a fire crackling in the hearth. We stayed at 4 different accommodations during the course of our 10-day tour of Ecuador and Galapagos and this was hands down our favorite. If we find ourselves in Ecuador again in the future, we would go out of our way to stay here again.

The classical suites at La Mirage Garden Hotel & Spa are decorated with antique furniture and crystal chandeliers. All have spacious seating areas with fresh cut flowers, free Wi-Fi, and cozy fireplaces. Guests at La Mirage can book a guided horseback ride to Cuicocha Crater and San Pablo Lake. They can enjoy a game of tennis, and relax afterwards with a volcanic mud treatment and massage. The restaurant features a stained glass roof and serves gourmet specialties such as fresh quail and seared duck breast. A breakfast with buttered croissants, natural juices and scrambled eggs is available. Surrounded by fragrant flower gardens and a picturesque water lily pond, La Mirage Hotel is a 2-hour drive from Quito. Free parking is provided.
