Townhouse No.1 exceeded expectations during my one-night stay in Aberystwyth. The check-in process was seamless, and the property was impeccably clean. Its convenience and cleanliness make it a standout choice for accommodation in Aberystwyth. Highly recommended for a hassle-free and comfortable stay.

Easy walking distance of the station. Room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Perfectly located to see the town and beach front. Hosts were lovely and welcoming. Special mention for the efforts they went to when I left a necklace behind in my room. They made arrangements with me so I could get it back which meant a lot due to its sentimental value. Thank you!

Very dated however the staff were very friendly, breakfast was fine, but the location and view from the room's bay window was exactly what needed.

Good location, staff were lovely, food was lovely. Couldn’t have the breakfast I had already paid for in the morning though as there was only one server and was taking too long when I had an appointment to get too.

I loved the bay and the coastal walkway. I was disappointed with the condition of the properties along and around the seafront. A feeling of neglect around the small streets. Lots of seagull droppings and rubbish cluttered these areas. The area around the train station was more desirable.

Bikes from all across UK headed there on a sunny day. The roads were fantastic and the places of outstanding beauty were stunning too!

We enjoyed the closeness of everything and being able to walk to most places. It was an interesting town which we look forward to exploring more fully on our next visit.
We ate at a restaurant right next to the station, The Athro lounge, good selection for vegetarians and child friendly, to be recommended.

Good road and rail links make it easy to explore this beautiful region, or you can just hit the coastal path to do some brilliant walking. The short but challenging walk to Borth, for instance, has dramatic scenery but you can then catch the train back to Aberystwyth.
For train fans, and the less fit, you can catch the funicular up Constitution Hill for a great panoramic view and I understand there’s a steam train but I ran out of time.
However don’t expect golden sands, rather black, coarse grit.
For dinner with a difference try Paprika for authentic Hungarian food and wines.

If you enjoy walking - either on streets or coastal paths - Aberystwyth is a good place to do so. We walked from the hotel to the Cliff railway and back on a couple of occasions - but using different routes each time. If you are interested in other things, we didn't visit many locations in the town (it was a stop-over on our way home) but I understand there are a number of attractions - including the Vale of Rheidol Railway which runs trains the 14+ miles to Devil's Bridge.
A few miles north of the town is the very interesting Dyfi Osprey Centre with a brilliant set of volunteers and - at this time of the year - good views of the breeding pair of ospreys from the centre's observation platform 200m away from the nest.
The room was well ventilated and the staff gave us a fan, without us having to ask, due to the heatwave. In addition to this the view was over the town and had an excellent shot of the Library of Wales. Furthermore we ran into the staff on a night out and were as lovely and friendly as they were at the hotel. Finally the TV had an assortment of streaming services such as Netflix and Disney +, which meant we got to watch shows we otherwise would have been able to see. I will be staying here again when I next come to Aberystwyth.
This place has the complete package. Great staff, great food, great room, modern, traditional, feels wonderful, location is superb, etc. Everything is close in Aberystwyth so don’t be swayed by the fact that it’s a little farther from the center of town. Nothing is far from the center or the train station. I also visited their sister locations (with different names) in Llandudno. They were equally phenomenal. Stay here when you can and you’ll keep coming back.
The breakfast was a hot buffer which meant you could have as much as you liked. It would have been nice if they'd had a few more items, eg Black Pudding. Also fresh tomatoes instead of tinned. The location of the hotel was central to all facilites in Aberystwyth. Including the railway station which was handy as I travelled there by train. (Happy to report that the trains were on time both coming and going back!)
The view from the bedroom window was spectacular which included amazing sunsets over the sea. Staff were very friendly and helpful, free car parking a bonus. The hotel was in a great spot in the town for access via the roads at the front and back. Food (breakfast and evening meals) were absolutely lovely, very tasty, obviously a good chef. This was my first visit to Aberystwyth and I wasn't disappointed.
Arrived far later than expected, in the middle of the night. Very friendly night porter received us (came out of the hotel to meet us with light), also day staff very friendly! Room very clean, great shower, nice bed - really very good hotel. Breakfast was very nice - I ordered a small welsh breakfast and it was indeed small, but delicious.
Stayed for 2 nights at beginning of August 2021 booking two rooms. Both rooms were very spacious, extremely clean with great facilities. Breakfast service in room was great. Hope to visit Aberystwyth again and would definitely book this hotel as really enjoyed our stay and the hotel is in a great location. Would recommend to anyone.
Lovely hotel, good selection on dinner menu, food very good. Great breakfast, nice staff (although lady in charge looked a little fierce) nice quiet room, sea views. Having walked around Aberystwyth, possibly one of the nicest hotels in the area! Paid £68 bed and breakfast for one person. Out of season, but still great value
The staff are so friendly. A lovely family run hotel. Close to everything in Aberystwyth within walking distance. Ate dinner at the hotel on the second night and very good price and very substantial. We had a sea view room which was small but the view was great with two chairs in the bay window.
The rooms are on two different floors and it gives a kind of "family house" feeling. The town is absolutely charming and the accomodation is on a very central place, just few steps from the beach. It is not possible to park in front of the house, but there is a cheap parking lot nearby.
The majority of staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. The view was splendid overlooking the beach and sea almost at your feet just amazing. Aberystwyth is a truly amazing place, something for everyone and amazing views and scenery.
A wonderful hotel in a beautiful location. It's near enough to Aberystwyth to be convenient but far enough away to be secluded. It's an ideal base for exploring this part of the Cambrian coast.
Great location. We managed to get a parking space in the hotel parking, which was good. Otherwise we would have struggled with parking. Excellent breakfast and evening meal. Staff very helpful.
