Probably good for beginners (less than 3 trips). Anything more and you’ll be bored after a day. Resprt is dreadful - like Blackpool on ice. No atmosphere, just bars, average restaurants and limited skiing.
Two good things - Rila hotel is lovely, and Victoria restaurant is a gem amongst some very basic food offerings

Borovets is a great place for families looking for a ski vacation. It's not to hard to get to from Sofia airport. Just 77 minutes away from the airport. The town felt safe and quiet even at night ( at least where we stayed). It has a green slope which is ideal for beginners. The blue and green slopes are right next to each other. This enabled me to see my daughter ski on the blue slope while I used the easier green slope which was too easy for her. The lift is safe and efficient. The slopes are wide enough to accommodate all the skiers without feeling too crowded. There are lots of good options for ski lessons and equipment. Personally I recommend Ollie Moly Ski school and rental. One piece of advice: don't change money to BGN in the airport. You get a much better rate by changing in Borovets. There are plenty of change stores in the town. The town is very close to the ski slopes. There are plenty of places to buy food

Beautiful slopes and lots of chairs available high on the mountains. It is however extremely crowded at the bottom gondola. It opens at 8:30 but at that time the queue is already very long and it's going slowly. We spent almost 45-60 mins staying in the queue at the bottom gondola. Also, the closing time is 4:30 PM. We would have expected that during Febr when the day is longer that they will be open much later than that.

Slopes were not well maintained, especially after it snowed overnight. They would become bumpy quickly after start of the day. Lifts timinings are also stange - cabin starts at 8 am, while Yastrebec Express at 8:30, so if one wants to go up - you have to wait very long time at Mid Station. I think it would be a great idea to leave 2 or 3 cabins empty, every now and then, so people waiting at mid statuon can board quicker.

The resort has seen better days.
The resort has seen better days. As a native from Bulgaria we can see the hordes of people hitting the slopes during the winter(when we visit) and if you plan to visit during the weekend - don't, you will ruin your experience. We are talking about 20minute waits on lifts, no space to walk due to lack of parking spaces to handle the traffic load and so. Week days are still calm and you can actually enjoy it. Another tip - if you want to eat, go to the near by town Samokov(5min drive) instead of eating on the slopes. It costs as much as 50% less and the food is better.
The room is really cozy and gives a lovely home-vibe. The bed was good, there’s enough space and there was a balcony. It’s really clear they put a lot of effort in the details (in the bathroom there were green details everywhere - soap, shampoo, even the details on the toilet paper). Tiny things I’ve noticed which I really liked. I was also surprised about how well-equipped the apartment is. Pans, different cups and wine glasses, cutlery.. all good quality as well.
10/10! I would definitely come back when visiting Borovets again.
The breakfast and dinner were more than exceptional!
The chef Jordan and his colleague Kremena gave us the sence of feeling more than welcome! They prepared a vast selection from the Bulgarian and International cuisine. The food was fresh, good quality, taste and very well presented!
Special thanks to Peter, restaurant Manager, who made us feel as home!
Hotel Reception desk attendant Grigor and all other Hotel staff were frendly, welcomming and ready to help us in any situation!
Gabriela and Mario were very nice to everyone, always there to help. The Hotel Boutique is looking awesome, from the style and the furniture to the plates. Clearly, it was a great investment. The food is fresh and delicious, the deserts, especially the cake made with yogurt, honey, nuts, and blueberries!!! 🤩🤩🤩 the ladies from cleaning did their job very well. I totally recommend this hotel boutique, very cozy, clean, beautiful and the food very tasty.
What we liked was the amazing staff who treated us like welcome guests and with the hospitality that only a friend can show. The hotel restaurant was really nice, with reasonable prices and high quality. The breakfast was also really good. The location is also amazing. It was really a very nice experience for us, even with some small inconveniences, we would still recommend the hotel highly.
Absolutely perfect location to skii in Borovets. You can see the slopes from the window and easily ski in and out. The breakfast and dinner were great. Wifi was fast. The staff were super helpful and nice. There is a spa in the hotel and I booked a few massages which were great after a day of skiing.
Lovely location at base of black slope beside restaurants,
ski rent and ski pass booth. Family orientated area and fun to watch kids sledging down hill. Hotel dated looking but comfortable. Staff were efficient and pleasant. 3 mins walking distance to main street Borovets
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were large and comfortable. Location is good for access to Yastrabets 3/Hotel. 5 minute walk with a very gentle slope, no effort and whilst not ski in/out it's close. The spa was excellent, best we've seen so far in Borovets!
The location is excellent, it feels like being in a cabin in the forest, very nice, quiet, and peaceful. 2-3 minutes drive to Borovets resort. If you want to visit Borovets but don't want to stay in a big soulless hotel, this place is a great alternative.
Great hotel in the heart of Borovets resort. The stuff are really polite and are client oriented. Very good location. Rich and tasty breakfast. Clozy atmosphere. Very good prices for accommodation. Perfect place for spend some days in Borovets resort.
The room was huge and the furnishing reflects the outside design of the hotel - it feels like a manor house. Food and service were great, the ski lifts are close, parking is available in the yard. A great place to stay in Borovets!
Great, large, well thought-out facilities. Spa area with saunas, jacuzzis and pool was especially nice. The room was clean and comfortable. Hotel is set in beautiful Borovets right next to the ski slope and some restaurants.
The staff was very polite. The food was tasty. Affordable prices at the lobby bar (as opposite to the overprised and overestimated ski resort Borovets). There were enough parking places. It was very warm in the rooms.
We had a wonderful stay at The Lodge Hotel, excellent service (friendly and responsive staff), the best possible location and overall good value if you book in advance, it would be hard to find equal offer at Borovets.
Best hotel in Borovets. Staff was very polite and welcoming, including the staff of reception desk and all restaurants/ bars. Food in the bar and dinner and the terrace was delicious. Rooms are specious and clean.
The hotel is very close to the gondola. We had breakfast and dinner included and food was very good, enough variety and very tasty. Newly renovated, had a warm and cosy look and feel.
