FAQs about hotels in Salou
On average, 3-star hotels in Salou cost $113 per night, and 4-star hotels in Salou are $147 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Salou can be found for $314 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Like all Costa Dorada resorts, Salou has a fantastic beach and fun water sports. But it’s the wide, palm-lined promenade that really makes it stand out. Boutiques and exclusive restaurants line its western end, while in the east the bay curves to a point where a sculpture leans out to sea. Head there for lovely views of the sandy beach and distant mountains.
Further round the coast towards Cap Salou the beach becomes rocky coves, while inland is PortAventura, Spain’s most visited theme park. This huge complex includes rides and roller coasters in themed zones, and a water park with slides, flumes and pools galore. Also here is Lumine, a golf club featuring 2 courses designed by Greg Norman.
Next door is Port Halley shopping center which also has a 3D cinema and bowling alley. The best shopping in Salou though is in the old town, where designer shops stay open until late.
Other Salou attractions include the dancing Font Illuminosa fountains, Bosc Aventura’s high ropes, and Aquopolis - a great water park for younger children. Although the town has plenty of arcades, clubs and bars, peace and quiet can be found.
Reus Airport is the nearest and it’s around a 20 minute drive from there to the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Salou bookable on Booking.com.
Quiet area good for eating and relaxing. Panders to tourists a bit, so try to eat in more local restaurants if you want better value and tastier food. I would try to avoid eating anywhere along the beach as a lot of them are within the same chain/group which serve a practically identical menu (restaurants like bamboo, boca boca, etc) and their prices are quite expensive for what you get (food is average and drinks watered down). A few days here is plenty to relax, but any more might leave you bored. There were plenty of little supermarkets for essentials, and I would recommend grabbing a light breakfast at any of the michaelangelo locations! It's super cheap and yummy.
The best place we ate for dinner was hands down restaurant tahiti so definitely check that out for great paella.
Beware that there is a monopoly situation on taxis (uber is banned) so taxis are quite pricey (€32 for 15/20 minute ride)

The apartment is well situated in a great little beach town of Salou. Just a few minutes walk to the beach, it offered all the amenities of home. Even a washing machine.
Unfortunately the train service in Salou has been suspended since we last visited but they offer many options of bus service to get to neighbouring Reus or Tarragona and even offer direct bus rides to Barcelona's airport.

Everything about Salou is great.
Everything about Salou is great. Over the last 25 years been 7 ot 8 times. I can't fault anything about it. Good beaches, great hotels and very family orientated. It's such a pleasant place. The airport is close and then there is Port Aventura world which is without doubt the best theme park in Europe. Then there is lovely places adjacent to it in Cambrills, Taragona and La Pineda.
The night life is also very good. No I can't fault this place and hope to return soon..

Definitely not a luxury holiday.
Definitely not a luxury holiday. Decent destination for a quick bout of sun however, I wouldnt rush back. The dining options are definitely lacking as its mostly diners. Again, lack of luxury but you get what you pay for.
The hotel was beautiful, it had everything you needed; a gorgeous big pool, lots of sun loungers, a restaurant, inside bar with entertainment, pool bar, a spa, the list goes on and on. The rooms are super clean and a great size bedroom area and bathroom, we had a sea view so our balcony had the most beautiful view of the pool and the ocean and you could see the sunset every night. They also have bikes to hire for €12 per day and it was about a 10-15 min cycle to salou beach and the main strip, this was our favourite thing we done.
The hotel is old, rooms and furniture are old, the bathroom is somehow remade. But the general conditions are good for a short stay. It was pretty clean. No facilities for 4 stars exepting one old minifridge. We had HB and food was medium, good variety but not the best quality, many cheap things. Overall you have what to eat even with kids. Parking around the hotel ( out of the season it was pretty crowded ) Good position - 20 min walk to Portaventura, 10 min walk to beach Salou.
One of our best stays in Spain. Ana met us at property (be aware GPS brings you to front of building and Ana met us there and brought us around to the back parking area). Unit has amazing views from both LR and kitchen. Place was spotless on arrival. Furniture was very comfortable for rental and TV was a decent size. Kitchen was well stocked and Ana left us a lot of water. Unit was generally quiet. Short walk downhill to a nice little beach in a cove.
Breakfast was good, plenty to choose from and good value
Didn’t use the pool. Bought tickets to water park at hotel got at discounted rate.
Also got fast passes from hotel too.
So close to the parks and water park.
Big clean hotel.
A Shuttle bus to salou would be a very good idea for customers also a free bus to airport would be a nice touch.
Entrance into park for hotel customers, 30 mins earlier would be a very good idea also.
The apartment was spacious and comfortable. We loved the location, right on the sea, in a quiet picturesque neighbourhood with beautiful cove’s and beach to explore nearby. Easy access to Salou and La Pineda along the Camino de Ronda, and a short walk from Cap Salou with it’s bars and restaurants. Also a short walk to local bus stops, which we availed of, in particular to visit Tarragona, a place not to be missed if you are in the area.
Beautiful hotel, immaculate throughout, fantastic location right beside the main street in salou, highly recommend
Roof top pool is fantastic, we had bed and breakfast and found it very well laid out with a good range of food. Room is basic but beautiful, cleaned everyday with fresh towels, small fridge and safe in room too. 24 hr reception.
Really can't recommend this hotel enough.
This is a beautiful hotel, in the center and close to the beach with a very nice pool; friendly reception, very nice room, and rich breakfast buffer; Salads missing! The hotel is in the very beautiful beach area, unfortunately the sea was dirty, maybe after heavy rainstorms, it is right in the restaurant and pubs area and 2 minutes from Salou bus station
location and what a wonderful hotel. spotless ,clean ,excellent staff , wonderful food. been coming to salou twice a year since 2005 and the Olympus Palace is by far the best we have stayed in. The roof top pool and area is five star. Most definitely we will be back next year
Nice, clean apartment with all the facilities and an astonishing view on the Passeig de Jaume. We had unforgettable sunsets on the balcony enjoying a café con leche or a glass of good cava wine. We'll repeat the experience for sure anytime we'll be back in Salou.
The room was bigger than most other rooms from other hotels that we've stayed in when visiting Salou. The quality of the food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good. The outside area had more than enough seating and sun loungers and a nice size pool too.
The pool is nice, good game options such as crazy golf, ping pong , pool etc.
The breakfast options are good. The location in terms of Salou is handy, easy 10 min walk to the center beach and main shops etc. Lots of facilities surrounding the hotel.
The breakfast was very good.
The room, bath, pool and other areas were very clean.
The staff was very polite and helpful.
The hotel is near the beach and near many restaurants and bars.
The car parking was cheap and always available.
Rooms were very clean and were cleaned daily, the whole hotel was clean, staff worked hard and were friendly , entertainment was good , pools could get busy, quite a walk to the main centre of Salou and around 10-15 minutes too beach
The property had all the amenities you would want for a family location. My kids had so many options right at their fingertips and the food near the hotel was delicious. Very nice, safe place to stay.
The location was fantastic with the entry in the Far West and just before the Mexic. The buffet had a large variety and was very good, the same for the hotel and the facilities
