Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Mojacar is a medieval Moorish, town in the Spanish Province of Almería. This white-walled destination, which is situated on a rocky hillside at the foot of the Sierra de Cabrera, will surprise you with its natural beauty and unique architecture.
Rich in history and cultural heritage, Mojacar has been populated since the 2000 BC by Moors, Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans. Today, it is a maze of narrow streets with local shops, street markets and restaurants serving traditional dishes like the ancient 'gachas'.
Travellers can park their car and explore the old town of this beautiful resort on foot. Home to 17 km of Blue Flag sandy beaches like Granatilla, the Playa de los Genoveses and the Playa de Monsul, the modern part of this coastal resort is an ideal place to enjoy outdoor activities like swimming, sailing and surfing. Golf lovers can visit the 18-hole courses of the Marina Golf and Desert Springs.
Almería Airport is about 55 km from Mojacar and has flights to big cities like London, Brussels and Barcelona. Check the Booking.com deals and choose from a variety of hotels, apartments and guest houses in Mojacar or the nearby cities of Vera and Carboneras.

A beautiful setting completely turned over to tourism.
A beautiful setting completely turned over to tourism. Beachfront section is super developed and too lengthy to walk. Are those hotels all-inclusives? The lack of private restaurants and supermarkets would indicate so.

Fantastic views. Not many (or any ?)
Fantastic views. Not many (or any ?) eating places open early on Saturday evening in late November, but I was told sometimes they open up later on. If relying on this for a meal it's worth checking in advance. But it's an attractive settlement with impressive panoramic scenic views.

Very good beaches also lots of different restaurants.
Very good beaches also lots of different restaurants. We ate at The Lemon Lounge (very good value for money and very yummy), Cheers (very good food and service), Chae's (wonderful fish and chips also the curry was lovely), Hong Kong (very nice food but slow service), Indian Restaurant (forgot name but it is near the opticians) very nice. The Cariba which was near the hotel for lunch, very good value for a lovely lunch).
It is very easy to get from place to place in Mojacar wither by car, which there are no parking fees, or by bus which is very cheap.
We usually stay in The Oasis Del Mar which is near a large amount of restaurants and a beach across the road (our special place in Mojacar)
1. The front desk rep., Nehuen that helped us each day was fantastic!'
He was always smiling and more than willing to help us with our questions/needs. He really made our stay a wonderful experience. Thank you Nehuen!!
2. The view from the room was wonderful... peaceful and relaxing. Enjoyed the sunrise in the mornings and sunsets in the evenings on the terrace, which was very good size!
3. We liked that the hotel is located at the end of Mojacar... less traffic and quiet!

Arranged a short stay for our young Daughter and her boyfreind whilst we were on holiday with family who live in Spain.
They had a spacious room which was basic, but clean and with a wonderful sea view from their terrace.
Excellent location, good value for money with breakfast and dinner included.
They were not awake in time for breakfast and ate out at the miriad of sea front resteraunts, but they both plan to come back with friends for a proper holiday and will stay at this hotel.
Hotel Mojacar Playa is incredibly good value for money. Great location (directly opposite the beach) with unimpeded views of the sea from your own private balcony. It's family run, very clean, with a relaxed feel. The rooms have a full size fridge, efficient aircon and a bathroom with shower and bath. The pool is also very well maintained. There are no cushions for the sun loungers but we took our own, so no problem!
Very nice welcome; easy check-in. Comfortable room - not big but suitable for the two of us, with a nice little balcony.
Good breakfast, quite generous; perfect to start the day!
Car park right outside the hotel.
A few steps away from the beach.
Overall an excellent value! Highly recommended!!
It’s a 1 star hotel so can’t ask for too much from it. I chose to stay there because there was no availability at other 3 or 4 star hotels. I think it’s a bit overpriced since better hotels were like 60€ more for the 4 nights that I stayed so the price is very expensive for what it offers.
Breakfast lovely-:loads of variety and nespresso coffee.
Check out not till 12- so we got an extra swim. One of the few hotels that keeps pool open to end of October.
Perfect for my dog- outside enclosed courtyard.
The complex is like a small village with lovely established gardens
A very sweet Hostal in a great location in the heart of the old town. The hosts Alberto and Miki were lovely from the moment we arrived. Great views from the rooftop terrace and the room has everything you’ll need, even a basket of of very thoughtful necessities if you run out….💕✨
Great find in the front line at Mojacar beach with easy parking right outside. Traditional older style property with variety of rooms We had a sea view room that overlooked the beach . Simple but the best breakfast I had during our month long stay in Spain.
spotless quiet even tho in heart mojacar Raymond (staff)amazing cleaning lady wonderful friendly I love every thing beds shower staff clean . just needs kettles in room for coffee and tea as must have in morning and a chair in the room with a little table
The apartment is really nice, it is small but very charming, with a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom and a sleeping room. It is located in Mojacar village walking distance from all attractions of the village.
Amazing staff
Tranquil location
Comfy bed
Amazing terrace, beautiful views

Great setting and a quiet location a small walk from the top of the pueblo. Ignore any negative remarks about this place. It is a bit basic but it is clean and the pool is nothing short of idyllic.
Friendly greeting. Great check in experience thanks to Alena and the lady working the day shift reception.
Best breakfast so far on our month long adventure across the southern coast of Spain.
Have stayed at this lovely hotel before, its location is very good, being close to the centre of Mojacar Playa, facilities, pool, bars are all excellent, great for a short break . . .
