Great place for family vacations involving horseback riding, but also a great place to spend some quiet time and decompress. We used it to recover from jet-lag for a couple of days. Breakfast was fabulous. Dinners were also great, albeit expensive.
The Greenhouse hotel has 7 restaurants and a bar in its food hall, Icelandic designer stores, Icecream and a local food market.

I was hoping for a lot of cool plants but the vast majority were fake! The concept was cool. The food was DELICIOUS and the vibes was nice! It was good that they included tickets to the local pool.

Everything you want and need from a getaway guesthouse/apartment, not too far from Reyjavik. Easy to access all the south coast stops without the hassle of the city traffic. The apartment was cozy and separate from their other units, which were also very nice, but this one was perfect for a couple. The hosts made every accommodation request we had and even let us use their vacuum for our airtight clothes bags! Very charming and overall what a great place to stay while visiting the Icelandic scenery.

Sigga was a friendly and helpful hostess. She provided a delicious breakfast and a comfortable bed and room. We enjoyed visiting the local swimming pool, which is only about 5 minutes from her house.

Great location to tour the Golden Circle. Convenient to have a restaurant downstairs and a grocery store within walking distance. Host was very personable and helpful.
Hveragerdi is like the story of Goldilocks - not too far...
Hveragerdi is like the story of Goldilocks - not too far away from the major cities and airport in KEF / Reykjavik. Not too remote nor too busy. Plenty of dining options and bars and yet not crowded. Not too quiet nor too bright with city lights. Almost the perfect spot if you want to explore anything in Thingvellir National Park. And, close enough to some easily accessible spots if you are hunting for the elusive Northern Lights.
Reasons to stay at Hveragerdi: 1) You just landed in Iceland and don't want to drive too far fighting jet lag. (2) You want to have a base for exploring Thingvellir / Golden Circle (3) You want to step away from the busy Reykjavik and also have options for restaurants, bars and bakeries (4) You want to stay at a spot not too far from KEF airport to catch a flight the next day
Reasons not to stay at Hvergerdi: (1) Your main points of interest are farther south and southeast Iceland (Vik / Jokulsarlon / Hofn) or farther west and north Iceland (Snaefellsness / Western fjords / Akureyri)

A great base to explore South West Iceland, the Golden Circle, and other sights. The little town is easily walkable. We ate at Matkráin which was recommended in the information pack at our accommodation and were not disappointed by the Danish smørrebrød. We also tried The Greenhouse which had a really good atmosphere and is set up as a food hall.

The location is good at the beginning of South Iceland.
The location is good at the beginning of South Iceland. Everything we wanted to see was within 1h 40min drive. Still the small town has a big shop and the basic services that smaller places further out don't have (except Selfoss)

This location was truly magical.
This location was truly magical. It was quiet but close enough to amenities. The walks around our hotel were beautiful, including the walk to the village. Nearby you can do the mega zipwire and the hike to the hot river. We really enjoyed both of these activities. The town of Selfoss is busier and has some great restaurants, it's around 10 minute drive. We also visited the Lava Tunnel which is about 15 minutes away. However, this was pricey for what it was. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of money as Iceland is expensive.

Great place to visit.
Great place to visit. Excellent hike to hot springs and geo thermal river for bathing - wasn't spoilt by being busy.
Are out one night at the pizza and brewery in town which was reasonably priced, delicious pizza and lively atmosphere.
The hotel is located in a remote area, but not far from town, which is ideal for watching northern lights. We saw it twice from hotel. There is a hot tub as well. Due to geothermal heating, the whole building, rooms and the floor is quite warm, which was really nice after a cold trip.
The breakfast was fantastic, however the same every day. Staff was very nice.
There are private bathrooms in the room, which is quite rare in Iceland. So for this price, it is incredible. We really loved it.
AMAZIN VIEWS! The hotel is located next to a river which allows for some spectacular views. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The highlight of our stay was the sauna and hot tub with views to the river, which where perfect for a relaxing evening after a day of hiking. The restaurant was closed due to change in management so we didn't get a chance to try it out but the staff was very attentive and gave us a list of great places near the hotel where we could have dinner.
The staff is amazing, very nice, helpful, it responds super fast and is very willing to help.
The restaurant and drinks were great. Local food. Good recommendations for drinks. And, they don't push you to spend a lot of money.
The room was clean and looked new. It was great for a night or several nights or days. You can easily chill out in that hotel in the room, the common areas or in the bath tub.
Possibility to horse ride.
The apartment was spacious and beautifully designed - apparently one of the owners is a well known interior designer and she has demonstrated her talents with these apartments. Lots of additional touches such as bathrobes, extra towels and flip flops for the hot tubs and steam room. We stayed in some lovely hotels in Iceland but this was the best value and extremely comfortable.
The hotel is very easy to find, on the main street in Hveragerdi. We stayed here on our last night in Iceland, on our way back to the airport. The main reason was the proximity of the Reykjadalur Hot Springs River. We were even lucky to see the northern lights just outside the hotel. Really liked the food court downstairs with their take-away stands. Food was very good.
Loved Inni Apartments! Our favorite place we stayed in Iceland. Apartments were spacious and well decorated, had a cute kitchen, comfy bed and nice water pressure in the shower. Free parking right there too. We didn't use it but there was a hot tub. Also very clean! It's also in a very small and cute town, walkable to a great food hall at one of the hotels nearby.
Beautiful apartment. Very clean and well designed.
Whilst the area was pleasingly quiet, there are still some key amenities in walking distance in the area including a food court and bar in a nearby hotel.
The apartment itself was perfect, definitely the best place we stayed in during our trip.
Communication from the host was clear and precise.
Everything was perfect - the location, the friendliness of staff, comfy beds, quiet rooms, great shower. The hotel has a food court with many options to choose from and the European breakfast hit the spot. We stayed for two nights to explore the golden circle and the more southern region. We would definitely come back here.
Nice hotel room clean and lovely decorated. The hotel doesn't have their own restaurant, but on the ground floor, there are 5 street food restaurants.
The breakfast offered by the shopbar isn't that great, not much to choose. I would recommend going to the bakery around the corner (just a 2-minute walk).
This is not a regular hotel. The first floor has a food court with 5 or so food vendors, all unique and were very popular. Lots of locals stopped in for dinner. There is a lovely shop with clothes, lotions etc. Very different concept, but it was fun. Has a rooftop bar. The room was basic but comfortable.
Gem of a hotel in an unbelievably gorgeous location
Staff super friendly and helpful
Breakfast delicious
Although restaurant not open in the evening, just a short and pleasant walk along the river into town where there are many restaurants to choose from!
The self check in process was seamless. When the specific room type we were looking for was not available, the hotel owner even offered for us to receive complimentary breakfast at a nearby hotel to make up the difference. She's absolutely a joy to work with!
the steam room and the pool was amazing! the staff was very friendly and they woke you up when the northern lights came out. the facilities and bar were very nice. because of the work on the hotel they upgraded us to a nicer room for free.
Wonderful lady that runs the place. She meet us at the door, checked us in and talked to us for a while about the best times to see the northern lights. Wonderful small cottage without the big hotel experience.
Clean and nice place in Hveragerdi near Reykjadalur Hot Springs. We didn't see anyone from the staff but everything worked out well. Parking by the entrance, keys and door code as instructed.
The location was great and the staff were lovely and helpful - food was nice and the hotel seemed clean - breakfast had great variety and Rooms were warm and spacious
Free upgrade to a superior room which is the one with sitting area. The beds and pillows are the best during our 10-day trip experiencing 8 different 3/4-star hotels.
