We booked at the comfort inn suites down the road from Marriot first. That hotel was a disaster, not clean, poor service, bad smells in public spaces, no security.
We booked the Marriott for the remainder of our time in Fairfax. We were pleasantly surprised at the clean smell that greeted us in the lobby and throughout the property. The desk check in greeted us and were very professional. The room and furniture were beautiful. Location was fantastic!
Thank you Marriott!

I liked the Gabriel Iglesias Fluffy show in stadium near George Mason University, all the restaurants and shopping Cheesecake Factory, Dave and Busters, Silver Diner, so much to see and do. I just didn't like the extended stay hotel at Fair Oaks Mall, run down, smelly and dirty. I enjoyed the national park near Fairfax, Great Falls Park...was really beautiful. The waterfalls were awesome.

I didn't expect it to look like a motel.
I didn't expect it to look like a motel. That was shocking but actually helpful and convenient to have my car next to the room. New experience!
The breakfast was OK, very simple. Scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes.
The coffee was terrible, tasteless. The cup was smaller than normal and still I couldn't finish it. There was no lid for coffee cups.

Fairfax is a bit pricier than some places Not far from the National Parks "Wolf Trap" a nice looking concert venue. Some shopping, a nice looking downtown and a few upscale restaurants and typical shopping there.

All was well except for 2 things.
All was well except for 2 things. The floor, both varieties areas and the bathroom tile, was not 100% clean. There was a toothpick and other small debris on the carpet, and a previously used washcloth was left hanging over the shower curtain.

This is a basic hotel.
This is a basic hotel. Not expensive, just getting shabby and worn down. Sink faucet did not work, towel bar coming off wall. Darker rooms with no overhead lighting. sofa was worn and fraying. Carpet matted and worn. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen has no utensils or anything so it is basically useless on less you spend time and want to buy utensils. I spent two nights and it was basic, basic cleaning with a comfy bed. You get what you pay for.
the air didn’t work which lead to me and my husband cuddled up at night bc we were cold. we ordered wings and Gad some left over came to the conclusion that the microwave siding work either. we order soda and had to drink out of the liter bc the “clean” cups that were in the hotel room where stained with I don’t know what on the INSIDE. the breakfast was trash. they gave us a banana a honey bun and a yogurt. I should have just strayed at a holiday inn or best western. I regret staying here.
Location, location, location. The hotel is in the center of the Mosaic District which is lovely. Lots of wonderful restaurants and nice shops. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas.
Also, it was easy to get an Uber to a museum in Washington DC.
Hotel breakfast is great and hotel and room was clean.
Its pleasing to see that its still an option for smokers to obtain a hotel room. I ended up leaving a few items in the room upon checking out and it was pleasing to know the maid took the items to the front desk the young lady assured me when I return I will retrieve my property which is comforting.
Right in the heart of old town Fairfax, set back off Main St so you don't feel as close to the NoVA sprawl and traffic as you actually are. Great bathtub, fast WiFi. I felt good about giving this B&B my money as opposed to a corporate hotel, and it was definitely more cozy and comfortable.
Clean. Excellent staff. Comfortable room and bed. Did a great job despite pandemic challenges. Excellent restaurant next door (Marie's). Location was easy to find and access to everywhere around Fairfax. They have accessible rooms for special needs.
The room was extremely noisy because it abuts a highway.
It is not the fault of the hotel but I had 2 noisy families calling across the hall to each other's rooms. I guess they thought they were at home.
Very good room, clean, large enough and good working and seating area. Little kitchenette for use. The hotel is new and good condition. Garage OK. Breakfast quite good.
The hotel is beautiful. It looks like it is newly remodeled. We had a Panoramic queen room and it was amazing. The room was very large and decorated perfectly.
I like the location of the hotel and that the rooms were clean. But my favorite part was the staff, they were so kind and helpful to me and my friends.
