The location is very good. It's a few minutes away from Santa Marta, which is nice because it's in a quiet, peaceful location. And there is security to limit entry and exit from the facility. The place has everything you need for a relaxed extended stay. There are a couple restaurants, bars, several pools, a small store if you need a few basic items, and a private beach with shaded areas to sit and enjoy the view. The absolute best thing about Santorini is the staff! Everyone was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The man at the check-in desk is bilingual, which was very helpful, especially with my poor Spanish ability. The place exceeded my expectations and we had an excellent, relaxed stay here.

We were expecting a beautiful beach with sunbeds, but it didn´t look very appealing to spend time there, so we had to go to Rodadero instead, it is of course crowded there, but the beach is nicer. The service is unfortunately not better and we also couldn´t find sunbeds at the beach, just chairs and the price was exagerated

Santa Marta is a cool little town.
Santa Marta is a cool little town. It seems more like the "local" vacation spot where Colombians go to vacation or the beach. My group seemed to be the only Americans in town. We found some great local restaurants and everyone was very nice. Very few English speakers though.
Everyone recommends Playa Blanca - but it's only accessible by boat. We chose Playa Rodadero in town and it was fun. Lots of merchants constantly asking you to buy things though.

Santa Marta is a nice city, but its historic town isn't of the same caliber as Cartagena. It is smaller and much less restored/developed. There is one long lane running through the historic district that has a lot of restaurants and cafes. The beach in Santa Marta proper is not very nice and is reported to be polluted. Given that there is a marina on one end and a large port for container ships on the other that is easy to believe. El Rodadero is a nice area, but again the caliber of the restaurants and cafes is not nearly that of Cartagena and it is much more of a party town than Boca Grande in Cartagena.
The breakfast was delicious. Pancakes for a change from the usual Colombian breakfast. And there was lots of choices for breakfast, which was included in the price. The staff was helpful, booked our tickets to Cartagena with the company Marsol, which picked us up at the hostel, and dropped us off at our hotel in Cartagena. The bus ride went without any problems. The hostel is right in the middle of the old city, so we could walk around easily to all the sites and restaurants. Good relaxed vibes at the hostel.
I recently stayed in this hotel. It is located in the center of the action in this part of Santa Marta, a few meters away there are restaurants of all kinds, bars, pubs, convenience stores, pharmacies, and craft stands. The staff is very friendly, always willing to help. The rooms seemed to be recently refurbished; clean, very spacious, and with very comfortable beds. I think it is important to mention that it is in front of a nightclub, so there is loud music and noise during the night.
Casa Carolina is a nice hotel located in the centre of Santa Marta and hence close to cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. The breakfast in the hotel is super rich with various tasty options. We all truly enjoyed it. The staff at the reception is helpful and kind. We had two different rooms and both rooms very spacious and with all necessities one may need. There is a teracce on teh second floow with nice sofa-cushions to chill out. The central swimming pool is divine.
Friendly and efficient check-in at a budget-traveler minded hotel in El Rodadero and located close to restaurants, bars, and short walk to the beach. Clean, basic room with strong A\C and the nicest towels I’ve used in a Colombian hotel -thick, soft, absorbent -it’s the little things that sometimes make a big impact. This is a safe, secure, family-oriented hotel located close to anything you want to do in El Rodadero and it’s a great price for what you get.
The location of the hotel is superb just at the centre of Santa Marta old quarter. Plenty of bars, restaurants and nightlife options within 1 minute walk. Modern chick design, tiny indoor pool and a roof terrace to chill out. Served breakfast is a tasty colombian standard: eggs, fruits, juice, corn cake (arepa) and coffee. Rooms are modern basic and clean. The staff is helpful. Good choice for short stays or for city and party lovers. Recommended.
Highly recommended. Comfortable, clean, quiet hotel just a few short blocks from the center of Santa Marta. The owners, Liliana and Luis, are warm, attentive, and patient while answering all my questions. Staff are also very kind and helpful. One even cleaned my hiking boots that were mud-laden from the Ciudad Perdida trek, and they now look brand-new.
(Don't forget the hammocks on the rooftop -- a delightful way to laze your afternoon away.)
I enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the hotel and how attentive the staff was from beginning to end. They made sure I was comfortable the whole time from before I landed in Santa marta to making sure I had safe and reliable transportation back to the airport. They were always there to help with anything and recommend great places to eat or activities to do nearby. I would recommend them to anyone visiting Santa marta.
The hotel building and pool area are very beautiful.
The room was basic, but clean.
The bathroom had a long counter with two sinks, and a shower with a rainfall shower head.
There was a small balcony.
The hotel had two separate deck areas - both with gorgeous views of the hills, El Rodadero city, and Rodadero Beach.
The pool area was pretty.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good.
We had an amazing time in Casa Hotel Rosa. We felt that the personal wanted to made us feel like home and it was completely the case ! They were very kind, helpful and interesting. The place is really enjoyable and beautiful and breakfast was really good. Thanks to the atmosphere you just want to hangout in the common place. We would definitely go back to this place if we had to be again in Santa Marta!
A lovely family run hotel in the colonial part of Santa Marta. My room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable too. Great vibe in the guesthouse with hosts always there to help and make the stay of the guests as pleasant as possible. I was given advice on local attractions as well as provided valuable info about transport options. Highly recommended. Bojan
This small hotel is at a walking distance from the historic district of Santa Marta. It is unpretentious but decorated with taste.
Our room was clean and comfy. It had A/C, which was a plus given the high temperature outside.
The breakfast was good and filling.
The staff at the front desk were polite and helpful.
Excellent hotel the staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to assist me and my fiancé . The private suite with the rooftop pool is definitely a must we really enjoyed the ocean views from our private pool. My fiancé said we will use this hotel when we return to Santa Marta!
This is the best hostel I ever been to it is perfect beautifully decorated very clean nature oriented amazing customer service amazing value. Even though it says hostel it felt more like a hotel I would highly recommend and will only stay here when I visit santa marta
the whole hotel was very nicely designed. rooms were generously sized and very comfortable. staff were very helpful, including helping us sort some other accommodation when we were ill as this hotel was fully booked. the hotel is right in the centre of Santa Marta
After our stay we went to Minca and then came back to Santa Marta for the final day. Our flight was at night so we went to the hotel and asked the reception to keep our luggage while we went on a walk across the Bay. This was perfect since our bags were heavy.
Good hotel in a centric location in Santa Marta. It is very closed to where the restaurants and pubs are located. Nice facilities and swimmng pool is a plus
Clean, spacious rooms in comparison with other similar priced hotels in the centre of Santa Marta. comfortable bed. Nice bar area and good swimming pool.
