Ballybunion is one of those small traditional Irish holiday towns. It has not changed much over the years. The main attraction is the beach (if you are not a golfer). There are a few beaches in the town, each has their own unique selling points. The Ladies (perfectly frames between two cliffs), Mens (longer walks) and Nun's beach (only accessible by rope). Each are different. There are a few pubs and restaurants and a gaming arcade which is great for kids.

The beach is well-known and popular.

The beach is well-known and popular. It's not the only local beach but it's good and Ballybunion town is good for tourists with kids. Of course golfers come here too. There are places to snack, souvenir shops and supermarket shopping etc. You don't have to stay right in town as there are plenty of good b&b's a couple of minutes drive away.

    A stunning seaside experience.

A stunning seaside experience. Two lovely safe beaches, one with a little surf action. The sun sets directly in front of the castle ruin on the promontory. Typical small village with typical pubs and food options. We stayed at the Marine Hotel which was a little pricey but very good - over the road from beach access and green area. The restaurant there has a good menu with much seafood available. We found it very enjoyable.

Ballybunion has a fantastic beach, however alot of the places don't open till between 4/5 and close between 9/10 except pubs other than that there's nothing really there for tourists in my opinion

One way street system very safe but cumbersome. Parking difficult good value in the car park, 2 euro for the day. Ate in the hotel, the meal was lovely, /cocktails were all 10 euro, pricey but worth it.I was very disappointed with breakfast selection, a full irish with no egg!!!!! Staff were lovely.

From the moment we arrived Aoife & the team greeted us with top class hospitality. Everything was absolutely amazing. The bed is the most comfortable we’ve ever experienced in any hotel around the world. The customer service is exceptional & the food should be awarded a Michelin Star. The proprietors Mary and her husband are lovely people. They are so welcoming and helpful. The inn is very close to Ballybunion. The common areas are warm and inviting, the room itself was comfortable and spotless-- and it includes a perfect tea service in room. Now for the breakfast! They charge a small bit extra but it is so worth it to have a homecooked Irish meal. I will come back the next opportunity I get and I highly recommend the 19th Golf Lodge.

The Harty Costello guest facilities are on the floor above the restaurant, which was unfortunately closed in May. There is a communal sitting area with great photos, a comfortable breakfast room, in addition to the guest rooms that were large with a nice sitting corner. Perfect location in the center of town. The highlight was the host, Jackie, who took great care of us and told some fantastic stories about Ballybunion.

Spacious family room with no adjoining walls, so I wasn't worried about neighbours hearing our children. It was comfortable and had a large bathroom.with 2 sinks. Tea making facilities. It was near enough to the village to walk home to at night, and overlooked the golf course. Good value for money.

Very comfortable and friendly property adjacent to the Ballybunion Golf Course. We stopped for the night during our tour of the Wild Atlantic Coast and we were very pleased to be upgraded to a suite. We had a splendid dinner at the nearby Strollers Bistro. Best meal of our entire trip.

The friendly staff and exceptional service of this hotel, restaurant, and bar should be a benchmark for what every hotel needs to strive for. What a pleasant surprise. The food and beverage are also magnificent. I wish our trip would have allowed 7s to stay longer.
