I love having a whole suite. They are a small apartment style hotel that has taken care of the building. The location is great if you have pets because they can enjoy the fresh air on the balcony and also are right across the street from an awesome ocean front trail with lots of garbage cans and doggy waste bags available.

The view of the river was amazing. We felt safe. Rules and regulations were clearly explained. It was clean with a well stocked kitchen. The sauna was an added bonus. We recommend.

They people are generally friendly. There are many places to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a cultural variety of dining options. Getting around the town can be tricky for a visitor, so GPS is a helpful tool. I suggest you avoid the hospital, it would put a damper on you vacation.

I love Campbell River mainly because our daughter and our granddaughter live there but also because it is a beautiful location and close to Quadra Island where we have spent many holidays at the First Nations campsite at Rebecca Spit.

Had a fantastic stay at Campbell River.
Had a fantastic stay at Campbell River. Our room was huge with a large balcony overlooking the sea. Beautiful timber ceiling. Loved watching whales, otters, geese and seagulls whilst we ate breakfast, sipped on drinks at the bar or over dinner. Beautiful property. So peaceful. Drove to Gold River. Amazing road with beautiful scenery. This is real wilderness. We just loved this area

Nice place for a staycation.
Nice place for a staycation. Went for a performance at the local theatre. Stayed one night. Easy to get lost, very spread out. But scenic, hills and lots of trees. Nice waterfront shopping area. Tried Potstickers, very tasty.

must admit have difficult time reach beach in quite a number of areas but a very lovely town to visit. the one evening had an excellent dinner at Moxies and the service was excellent. also had a really good fish and chip dinner across from the docks ( sorry can't remember name but if you ask around they come highly recommended!)
Any of the businesses (be clerks or owners) were so friendly and helpful. Most appreciated!
A real must is a visit to the museum found it was truly interesting due to the focus on Native art and history of Campbell River

Oceanside atmosphere, lots of piers, marinas etc.
Oceanside atmosphere, lots of piers, marinas etc. Obviously a major destination for fishers, anglers, boaters. Spectacular parks and waterfalls within easy driving distance - Strathcona Park (mountains, hiking, camping) 50 km away.
I loved the fact that the staff went above and beyond to put my room only a few doors down from my daughter and her partner so we were able to visit easily in the rooms when we weren't out exploring and hiking the beautiful nature walks. Also the pier and water in the ocean right in sight of the lodge was so awesome to look at! Also nice that breakfasts were included! And the dining area at night had delicious food as well!
Ideally located the heart of Campbell River, restaurants, ferry and shops are within walking distance or a short drive. Friendly staff made check-in a breeze, thought the early morning front desk staff had to be interrupted from personal conversation in order for us to check out. Room was very clean and comfortable. Overall, there were no issues with our stay.
We got a lovely welcome text from the property while we were on our way up Island; the cabin was super clean and cozy. Bed was comfortable, all the necessities in the kitchen and nice little touches too by the owners. Right across the road from the beach and convenient location to everything in Campbell River. I would definitely stay again!
It is an older hotel, but well maintained and updated, comfortable beds, clean, good services, has an elevator, parking is free an available outdoor and indoor, good complementary breakfast, nice location across the ocean where there is a long paved sidewalk along the shore.
The location is a spot-on, located at the heart of Campbell River. Bed is very comfortable, hotel/room is also fairly clean, free breakfast also comes handy though it's lack of variety on the menu. Staffs are very kind and accommodating so that's a big plus.
Booking.com only allows 4 pics, but the bathroom sink & mirror was clean and new.
Full sized fridge (not hotel sized) so great if u wanna cook or rent monthly. Spacious room.
The microwave was surprisingly cleaner than the room.
Fabulous views of the waterfront and our own little outdoor sitting area. Bed was super comfortable and extra comfy pillows provided. Great location within walking distance to the show we were doing to in downtown Campbell River.
A friendly host to give advice about Campbell River. A comfortable room with good inclusions. Quality linens and toiletries. Plus a nice but distant view to the sea. We enjoyed breakfast and chatting with the other guests
We travel to Campbell River often and have stayed at numerous motels but the Big Rock is our favourite. Current owners are top- notch keeping the place in good shape and helping when they can!
The room was old, needs a lot work, it was not very clean, and had to change hotels. Once Management puts in a lot of TLC it may work out. It was not a nice place to stay
Breakfast should be on Campbell River official things not to miss!! Blueberry pancakes are marvellous and the hosts are awesome 😊 Everything is within walking distance.
I always stay at the Anchor Inn when in Campbell River. The staff are friendly….the rooms are comfortable and you can’t beat the beautiful view. Nice dinner too.
