The old parts of Konya are beautiful. The new parts are interesting. This city feels very traditional and profoundly Turkish. Very little globalisation and not much English spoken here. It is very different from Istanbul or Ankara - it is slower and less frantic than its urban counterparts. Religion obviously plays a big part in this culture, but stick to the rules, show respect, and you are welcome everywhere. The mosques and the monuments are beautuful, but so too are the markets and bazaars. Prices are very reasonable, so good food and bargains are not hard to find.

Konya is a huge city, depending of what you are looking for, you have to chose you area wisely. There is plenty of country side and beautiful scenery, but a long drive from where we were if you are planning to find nightlife or entertainment it might be difficult. The area we were in, we visited some restaurants, food is good, but most of them you cannot consume alcohol. so if you plan to go out after a days work and have a drink you can forget it.

I went to Konya to attend Mevlana's death anniversary and enjoyed it a lot. Significant experience with the food, people, architecture, everything. It was a spiritual trip, so I greatly enjoyed the city.
It's easy to get around, and the bus/tram connection is excellent. You can buy a city card, top it up, and move around.
It had terrific world-best falafel and hummus opposite Shah Shames Tabreez's tomb—a must-visit place.
Great and affordable grill and other food options near Azizyea 🕌 mosque inside old streets of Konya.
I visited Sille, a beautiful historic village only 30 minutes by bus from Konya city center.

Konya gives you a high sense of spiritually most likely because of its connection with Mevlana Rumi and Shams Tabriz. It is not as crowded as Istanbul so it's more enjoyable. The mosque ans the tomb of the Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykabut, located on a strategic hillock, has a beautiful garden and a very good to relax. Out of all the goid restaurants, Sufi Restaurant offers the best cuisine. We enjoyed Konya''s signature dish, the Firin Kebap and the dessert Hosmerism. They are a must to eat.

I had never been to Konya, so we hired a guide for a 7-hour walking tour. Konya is an ancient city (Roman name was Iconium) as well as a pilgrimage site for many sufis, since both Rumi and his mentor Shems-i Tabrizi have tombs in the city. The Mevlevi dervish sema at the Mevlana Cultural Center is a big draw for people from all over the world. Even though the ceremony is choreographed, in a large arena more suitable for a basketball game, the performance was genuinely felt, and emotionally moving.
Rumi hotel was perfect for our accommodation choice in Konya. It was just a 3 minute walk to the Mevlana museum and main square. The staff was so accommodating and helped us with early check in after our flight was last minute changed by the airlines. Truly a great choice if you are planning to stay in Konya. The breakfast terrace was under construction but by our last day it was complete and looked amazing! Definitely a beautiful place to have your morning coffee with a view of the mosque and Mevlana museum. A must stay! Thank you Rumi Hotel
My friends and I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel in Konya during our trip. We opted for a three-person room and another one for two, and our experience had its ups and downs.
On the positive side, the hotel impressed us with its cleanliness and the warmth of its staff. They were incredibly friendly and always ready to assist. The room we stayed in was notably spacious, and the breakfast served was of high quality. The hotel's central location was another advantage, making it convenient for us to explore the city.
It's a very nice family run small hotel next to the museum and near several restaurants. The owners are very friendly and attentive and it was a pleasure staying there. We stopped in Konya overnight on the way from Alanya to Cappadocia and saw the whirling dervish show that night and went to several museums the next day.
We stayed in wonderful corner rooms at Bera Hotel Konya! They were among the most spacious rooms that we have ever stayed in, and amenities were thoughtfully provided at every turn. The fresh buffet breakfast in the morning is an extra treat. We'd recommend this hotel without reservation and were sad to leave it so soon!
Everything was excellent. me and my wife stayed only for a single night while we were passing through Konya on our trip around Turkey, and though we had only a limited stay our mind was blown. It is easily the best room we've been in while we were in Turkey, and without a doubt an excellent value for its price.
this was hands down the best experience in Konya. the hotel is centrally located to the point that it’s 20 steps from the Mevlana Museum. they were hospitable, the breakfast was nice. the room was nice. they gave us water bottles everyday - this was an exceptional boutique hotel experience to remember
This hotel was inviting from entering the lobby! We loved the unique style of the hotel + Turkish breakfast in the morning with the famous Simit bread! We stayed here Saturday night and walked to the Dervish Show (about 20 min and felt very safe).
I was comfortable in this hotel, it is clean, warm, affordable, close to the center. The staff is nice and the breakfast is good. A recommendable hotel :)
I just wish they spoke English more but that is a problem in most hotels in Konya.
Wonderful location in the center helps tourists to plan their time. the hotel staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The receptionist helped me hire a taxi for a trip to the Çatalhuyuk Archaeological Museum which is located out of Konya.
Location just behind Hazrat Mawlana R.A. Reception staff also very helpful. Also the best restaurant in Konya just in front of hotel providing authentic Konya cuisine and very affordable - Maaruf Turbeonu Lokantasi.
Think Hotel is clever and beautiful at the same.time in it's decoration and ambience. An esthetic experience from beginning to end. Also, their breakfast, along the same esthetic delicious line, is magnificent.
- Good position with restaurants and attractions nearby
- Helpful staff but English was not a strong side. (however that’s never a problem in Turkey and you can get along using alternative communication)
Its one of few hotels in Konya, which let you stay in the room with your partner even if you are not married and are not asking for marriage paper. Plus location of this hotel is amazing.
The breakfast was excellent with lots of selection, modern big hotel with a good cafe bar. Kindly staff specially Mr. Kemal. Appropriate room facility and size.
