There was something in our room that the hotel needed but with no one who spoke any english... they bothered us 3times before we figured out there was a "roll away" bed they needed for another guest,

Of all the places I stayed between Rome and Milan, this was my very favorite. The gracious owner/host has created the most peaceful and beautiful retreat experience and I only I wish we could have stayed longer. We ate dinner outside on the grassy knoll with a stunning view of the valley and no one near as far as the eye could see. We so enjoyed talking with Luca and hearing about his family homestead.
The hosts / owners were very nice, welcoming and the service was top notch.
The hotel is really cozy placed in a park-like setting.
In the morning we saw several peaceful wild boars walking quietly by the river below the hotel. It was a fun experience.
Before we left in the morning we were given a bottle of Giorgi Pinot Nero Oltrepò Pavese wine by the host. A super fresh locally produced white wine
One surprise was that the hosts were super good at speaking English.
We would like to get there again if we get on these edges.
After that exceptional stay it's hard to summarize what we liked or enjoyed most. Of course the boheme-Italian style of the hotel is great, and seeing the castle on the mountain greeting you as you wake up is also great. But by far the most impressive and memorable thing of our stay was the warmth, kindness and soul of the host.
And before we forget, the lunch was also absolutey amazing. 10/10 highly recommend!
Perfect spot for a few days of relax. The pool area is very nice and you can order drinks for the sunbeds and have dinner at night in the pizza restaurant. The hotel and rooms are from a different time, but it is all very charming. Aircon works great in the room and the bathrooms are updated. All in all vey happy. We will be back!
management listened to and actioned our requests for a quiet room with good lighting and air conditioning and with a walk in shower (not over bath one).
l also liked the spacious room & comfortable beds. Staff were helpful. Brilliant location of hotel for town centre and eating places.
