For the price that we paid, we were getting excellent value. The room had everything that we needed. The breakfast was rather extensive, Japanese styled. Parking was easy.

The facility was centrally located. The owners and staff were very accommodating. We were able to communicate adequately even though they didn't speak English and we didn't speak Japanese. The onsens were super clean and the water was toasty. We were impressed with our experience and would not hesitate to stay at the Takaraya again if we ever return to Kotohira.

The food was amazing, quality and quantity. It seemed like the longer we stayed, the more we were treated. The private onsen rooms were fabulous, too. We went several times each day!

Clean and very calming environment. Friendly and helpful staff. Multiple amenities offered to enjoy and provide relaxation. The area has lovely views of mountains and was great change from city life. Loved the cherry blossoms and gardens.
