Everything but the weather. They didn't have anything to do with THAT!
The staff were very nice. We mainly dealt with Regina, the night clerk. She was great!

Very comfortable stay, with a large room and wonderful breakfast. The best part was the staff—they were so friendly and kind.
The 4-star superior hotel has been family-run since 1634 and offers an indoor swimming pool, various saunas, steam baths, a children's playground and a cozy lounge.

We had a spacious two-story, two-bedroom, two-bathroom, three-balcony suite with lovely mountain views. It also had a kitchenette, separate dining area, and an upstairs sitting area. We went to the pools (main pool, whirlpool, and children's play pool) twice a day--there's a fourth, adults-only pool that we didn't visit. The resort is very close to central Garmisch and easily walkable. It's only a few minutes drive (by car or by the hotel's shuttle bus) to the Hausbergbahn. The kids enjoyed the minigolf course, the game room, and the buffets. We've stayed at several resorts in the Zugspitze area and would gladly return to this one.
This accommodations features a minimalistic style with organic materials and is located in the heart of the Garmisch district, just 2625 feet from the Classic ski area.

wonderful stay with a lovely Alpine lodge feel, had a sense of being very tranquil and private while being extremely close to restaurants shops and transport. Kai, Sarah and the team were so welcoming and helpful during out stay. Kids loved it, definitely a must stay in the area.
Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey. Which is certainly impressive. You'll most likely visit Ettal for the region, as it is a great point to start your hikes and/or visit Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkichen. Munchen and Innsbruck are only an hour drive away.

This busy hotel has the feeling of a youth hostel.
This busy hotel has the feeling of a youth hostel. Rooms are simply but practically equipped. There’s a constant coming and going of tourists. Unfortunately,
I couldn’t bring me dog to breakfast. I wasn’t told that outside it is possible.
Breakfast was basic. Scrambled eggs came in squared chunks, thus probably defrozen. Lots of plastic (Marmelade, Butter,…)
The whole personnel is polish. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, I had just expected a Bavarian host.
All in all my stay here felt like holidays off an assembly line.

Beautiful town nestled in the mountains.
Beautiful town nestled in the mountains. The monastery is right at the bottom of the hill from the hotel and it’s conveniently located near Schloss Linderhof and Oberammergau. There were other hotels but we chose this one for the view AND based on the menus at other restaurants this was the best. We took a self tour of the monastery as well as bought beer from their brewery and cheese too. The hotel served the beer from the monastery as well as used it in some of their specialty dishes.

The location is beautiful with the mountains in the background. There is a lot to see in the area. The only unfortunate part was that we were between seasons and many restaurants and stores had limited hours or were closed.

Ettal is a great place for sight seeing and visiting castles etc. The one downside is the location. The weather can change very quickly, a sunny hot day can turn into a very wet and dower one in the blink of an eye. Looking over the valley when it is obscured by clouds and rain can be a bit disheartening. If your looking for wall to wall sunshine then this is not the best choice.

Very wonderful village and the surrounding mountains are stunning. For anything longer then 3 day stay though, a bike is essential to being able to get to the surrounding towns for groceries and such. The attractions in Ettal are far more then one would expect with such a small population, but the business hours on google are not to be trusted as they change with the seasons and holidays.
This is one of the best apartments we have stayed in. Very well designed, equipped, clean, comfortable and spacious. Peta is very friendly and kind. She kept the heater running for us as we didn't expect summer would be this cold for the last few days. The location is off the main road, quiet, next to a nice restaurant, opposite the Ettal monastery and brewery, very close to a nice little bakery which offers good simple breakfast and 15 km away from Zugspitze.
This hotel is lovely! The beds, linens, decor, view (from our room) location, parking....fantastic. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We were there for the Passion Play in nearby village/town and this hotel was perfect. And, they had the most beautiful and healthy houseplants I've ever seen!
I support several vacation rentals in Hawaii and I'm very selective. This is a beautiful property and I would highly recommend staying here.

The staff (especially Christina) and her hospitality. We are a family of 5 who stayed in two suites for one night. We attended the amazing Passion Play in Oberammergau and enjoyed the proximity from Ettal to there. The rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel is furnished beautifully too. Hope to return and visit the monastery across the road.
All of the people at the hotel are very friendly and the breakfast is excellent. The hotel is a block off the main road so it's very quiet, but still very close to the abbey and only a short drive from Linderhof and Oberammergau. And there's a very nice pool, sauna and exercise area. We had a beautiful view of a meadow, with the abbey off to the side.
Very friendly and helpful staff, 3 saunas for 8 €/person as a good deal and additionally for a good price really delicious dinner! The place is not very modern, but warm, spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the village is really picturesque. What I prize in hotel rooms is a water boiler and a rubbish bin, and there were both. Big recommendation!
Charming hotel with a beautiful location directly overlooking Kloster Ettal. We could sit outside to enjoy drinks and dinner. The staff even lit a fire for us to sit around in the evening! Beautiful woodwork inside dining areas. Easy driving distance to Oberammergau, Garmisch Partenkirschen, Linderhof castle, etc.Highly recommend!
We had a very pleasant stay at Ethiko. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable for our family of five. Breakfast was perfect to start our day. 15 minutes to Garmisch attractions and also close to the Ettal Abbey and Oberammergau...neither should be missed!
Nice apartment in a great location. Very clean and parking is directly in front of the property. Close to excellent restaurants and cafes and a 4 minute drive to Oberammergau and about 26 minutes to Garmisch. 6 minute drive to the alpine coaster. Great price!
Location was fantastic, with a great view to the monastery. Very close to restaurants (just down the road). Room was bright, very clean, a little small but suited our stay. Terrace food and drinks was very good. Service good and helpful.
Free parking space. A washing machine and dryer. Good equipped kitchen. Contact with the hosts was only digital, but quick and friendly response. Ettal is a nice village and a good starting point for walking paths.
The hotel had a very homey feel. The dining room was very well laid out and food options were great. The room we stayed in had plenty of room and great views. We loved hearing the cow bells at night.
In a beautiful location with fantastic views of Ettal. Only a 30min drive to the Eibsee/Zugspitze gondala. The apartment was very clean, modern and with full kitchen amenities. Thankyou again!
