Staff was fantastic, pretty good value for money and yummi breakfast. I went there for Boom Festival and the location is perfect, about 30 min from the festival.

This property is situated in a small village which is a good starting point for the route of the historical villages. Our host Laura Mendes is a charming, attentive person who makes the best coffee in Portugal and a good breakfast. Her son who speaks English helped us when we arrived with all of the information. Provisions can be found in the village or close by at Orca, there is a small grocery and restaurant or there is the town of Lardosa not too far.

Beautifully renovated property in the countryside. Wonderful staff who went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. We are travelling in off season so hotel was not busy. Thank you especially to Claudia and to the chef you stayed later to prepare and serve us dinner. Excellent beds, spacious rooms with small patios.
The Casa Pires Mateus is located in the Historic Village of Monsanto. It is a characteristic house recently rebuilt keeping the traditional style of the village with its exterior granite walls.

Immaculately clean. Spectacular view from the terrace. Delicious breakfast. Shower had incredible water pressure and HOT water (sometimes not the case we’ve found in other BnB’s). Great value!
