The location was perfect. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was the best we had in our 5 weeks here in Ireland. The staff was so wonderful, especially Anna, a waitress in the restaurant. She started our morning with a brilliant smile and left us feeling very welcome.

Waterford surprised us. The museums are great, we enjoyed especially the Bishop's palace. All the people we interacted with were very nice, kind and helpful. The Waterford people and city council have done a great job in this last 10 years. We will go again

I liked the fact that staff changed me to another room when I complained about the noise of the boiler. However the room we stayed in was freezing and this was February and it was cold.
The staff need to be a bit flexible about breakfast times. The receptionist would not accept that we would come down between 9.30 and 10am or even at 10 minutes to 10am. She said that we had to give her an exact time to book the table! We said 10.am, which she accepted but when we got to breakfast the tables were cleared and staff said that we could have a cooked breakfast only. We stood our ground given the night we had and we did get the breakfast we would have got had she allowed us to come down at 9.45am. We got a strong impression was that it was all about what was convenient for the staff as opposed to looking after the customer. Such a pity.

I moved to Dublin earlier this year.
I moved to Dublin earlier this year. I've been to most Irish cities at this point. I decided to get out of Dublin for the night and came to Waterford on fairly short notice.
Perhaps it was the (rare) nice weather, but Waterford is now one of my favorite cities in Ireland and was the perfect place *for me* to spend ~24 hours. Note that I usually race around from the moment of arrival to the moment of leaving, so others might enjoy all that Waterford has to offer - King of The Vikings VR experience, the Time Museum, the Irish Wake museum, some silly crystal place (albeit with an impressive company store,) Constitution Square, the Medieval Museum, Bishops Palace Museum, the Silver Museum, the river bank, building murals, etc. - for two or three days.
By the way, several of those museums can be seen for one ~15-euro pass, easily bought online the day of arrival (such as I did!) There might be even cheaper options; check before you go! I'm not a museum person, but even I enjoyed everything above. https://visitwaterford.com/vw_news/waterford-treasures-launches-freedom-of-waterford-tour/
I stayed at the Waterford Marina hotel which offered a great view of the river, albeit for 160 USD for my one night there. (Did I mention I decided to go with almost no notice? This was what was available!)

Drizzle rain and rain can happen, be prepared, it is Ireland. Lots of Touristy things to do if you like doing those things. Cost of regular clothing is inexpensive and easily obtained. The pints at The Exchange were 4.60 euro, a very good price. Tipping is not expected and does not show up on tap readers or bills. There is construction throughout Ireland however if the country side is your calling, it is not far away and is very, very enchanting.

Waterford City has a harbour front which is lined with parking and the highest rated hotels in the area (Granvilles, The Tower Hotel etc.) which all provide nice places to eat and drink. There are a number of museums in the area, one of the newest being the Wake Museum which is quirky as it's all about how the Irish celebrate death and features costumed staff so is well worth a visit.

Don’t be in a hurry to leave Waterford!
Don’t be in a hurry to leave Waterford! There are so many wonderful places and exhibits to enjoy, from the museum to Waterford glass, to the Viking trail…. and the Tower Hotel is the perfectly placed base for all these and more… and I mustn’t forget to mention the friendly local people too. Enjoy!
Tower Hotel was the perfect night away for me and my partner.
We had a king size room with a view of the city and the river. It was exactly what i had hoped for.
The room itself from the bed to the bathroom was perfect.
Lovely shower/bath.
The bed was very comfortable.
The hotel restaurant and bar itself is amazing and we had breakfast there which was excellent!
Definitely will stay again.
Our room was large ,freshly decorated and very clean. It was quiet. The whole hotel has been renovated recently and is clean and smart. The location on the riverside is lovely yet a short walk along the river and across a footbridge to the city centre ( 10 mins). The surrounding area is residential. Staff are friendly and efficient. Free car parking to the rear.
Fantastic location. Fiona at reception was super helpful. The staff in the carvery/ lunch restaurant were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is full if history. Highly recommend a stay there. Tip: go in the Waterford Crystal tour- the history of the factory is very interesting. The hotel is very clean, staff are very helpful, breakfast was delicious.
We booked the gentleman into Dooleys Hotel, he was here visiting us on business.
He reported it was ecmxcellent loved the room, and the vieuw on the marina.
Thought the staff was very friendly and helpful, clean and he had a great night sleep. Great to hear that for us too so we can use Dooley's hotel again in the future.
It was amazing. They hotel was so clean and beautiful surrounding. Can’t believe it’s a 4 star. Should be a 5 star. Staff were so helpful and well mannered. Very organised and very friendly. Loved it from start to finished. Going to come back for a last weekend.
Beautiful hotel and the location is lovely, right on the water. Easy walk to the Viking Triangle and shops. Rooms were very comfortable and impeccably clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Also we ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious.
The hotel was lovely, staff were super friendly and helpful. Location was good, a little ways outside the city centre but close to the bus stop into town. The hotel breakfast was nice and carvery at the hotel was incredible.
Hotel was Quite and relaxing. Rooms were clean and food was tasty and staff were nice and accommodating. Very affordable stay and great location close to the city centre and short walking distance to public transport
The Mews are run by the hotel, meaning you get access to all the hotel facilities, which is great. Spacious mews is definitely better than a family room with kids and having own kitchen was great.
Good location just on the edge of the city centre, easy to walk to centre; view over river (but with distillery in front); secure private parking; use of hotel garden
Hotel was excellent,so clean, food was gorgeous.
Pool facilities were sooo good.
Was in an brilliant location, only 15 minutes to Tramore and Waterford City centre
