Known as the "Jewel Box", Dresden is a stunning German city with rich history, an important classical music scene, and an unforgettable Baroque and Rococo-inspired city center.
Located on the banks of the Elbe River, the whole city was destroyed during World War II, but has now been rebuilt into one of the most interesting places in Europe. Like a phoenix from the ashes, the Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche) is an imposing building that is one of the most beloved symbols of the city.
Magnificent Zwinger Palace is the main Dresden attraction, featuring impressive pavilions and a majestic garden in the middle. Continue your journey along the cultural centre of Germany and visit the picturesque Baroque square of Neumarkt. Also not to be missed is Brühl Terrace, a promenade nicknamed the "Balcony of Europe", for its excellent view of the River Elbe.
Enjoy a relaxing stroll around the city and you will find a selection of cozy Dresden restaurants and beer gardens serving local dishes and fine wines from the surrounding vineyards.
Dresden Airport is the international airport located in the district of Klotzsche, featuring a railway station in the terminal building. Take the train and head to your Booking.com hotel, guesthouse or apartment.
Very beautiful city. The historic center is very impressive considering that it was almost entirely rebuilt after 1945. I highly recommend the Old Masters Gallery in Zwinger. This is an unforgettable experience!

Everything!
Everything! Easily my favourite city to visit in Germany so far for its sheer beauty. Amazingly I got last minute tickets to the Semperoper (the opera) to watch “The Magic Flute”.
The architecture, the food, the people are what make Dresden the special place it is.
The Hop on Hop off bus tours are great as they take you to the suburbs in the hills that you would otherwise not get a chance to see. Great views and a good cafe in one suburb to have a coffee.

I went for trains and there is a lot for train fans.
I went for trains and there is a lot for train fans. Two narrow gauge steam trains, only 15 minutes by train away from the main station: Weißeritztalbahn and Lößnitzgrundbahn. The Transport museum (Verkehrshaus) next to the Frauenkirche is also worth a visit. Take the 1.5 hour train east to Zittau and you get to another great and famous narrow gauge steam train line. And you are only scratching the surface here. If you are in the UK, take the Eurostar to London, then continue with the Eurosleeper in a direct train to Dresden. You can even easily make a day trip to Prague!

Dresden’s history is mind boggling.
Dresden’s history is mind boggling. There are so many areas worth exploring, both within the city and on the outskirts. Rapid transit is easy to negotiate.
Dresden was certainly the cultural Center of Germany and, despite being bombed at the end of WW2, the resilience of Dresdeners helped restore a unique city.

Dresden has obviously much to offer in terms of history,...
Dresden has obviously much to offer in terms of history, with its many museums or locations that have something to tell about it. Like the Semper Oper, which offers guided tours - also for kids (I would recommend for families); Zwinger with its science exebition; beautiful rebuild Frauenkirche with its catacombs etc.
But also "die Neustadt" with many culinary restos, the art district, the Elbufer - especially in summer. As well as the many hiking trails, Bastei Bridge, many castles like Moritzburg or Königstein Fortress (take at least 5h for that. it also hold a museum)
There were many more things to see, which we could not cover. So, a good reason to go back soon.
Central location right between Frauenkirche and Elbe - just step out of the hotel and you're right in Dresden Old Town. The room was larger than my own apartment, consisting of a bedroom, bath and living room and furnished with all amenities I didn't need during my stay including a kitchen and a washing machine. Granted, the furniture was a bit dated and the hallways and rooms pretty plain and impersonal - but still, this is pretty good value especially considering the location. Would definitely consider coming here again!
Beautiful boutique hotel in old part of Dresden. Loved the colourful decor and interesting artworks. Spacious room, very clean, comfy bed, great breakfast with fresh fruit. Loved the area - lots of great, inexpensive food options and old bars, including the tiny Blue Note Jazz Bar. Good area to walk round and browse vintage shops. Surprisingly quiet after 11pm. A fair distance from the train station but public transport was easy to navigate. Friendly staff.
First time in Dresden and I am glad I chose this hotel. The location is perfect as it is close to the center and we had an advent market 200m from the hotel. Rooms were nice and clean. We were with a baby and they provided a crib free of charge. The hotel does not have their own parking but we parked right in front of the doors on public parking. It costed 6€ per 24h. I have my hotel for Dresden :)
It was super clean, the beds were very comfortable.
Very spacious, terrace included, windows everywhere with adorable flowers. Cheap parking, calm, charming area and altogether an amazing stay. One of the best we have visited. Super good value for money, especially in Germany where everything is usually too expensive, this was PERFECT!
I’ve stayed here before so it was my first choice for a return trip. It is very conveniently located being a short walk to the old town and the Zwinger & within easy reach of local transport. A very nice breakfast buffet and a pleasant atmosphere throughout the hotel.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful and really the best.
The hotel is situated in the city centre, just a few minutes away from the major shightseeing spots. The room as well as the bathroom are really big and comfortable. At breakfast you have a wide range of delicious food to choose from. I really recommend this hotel if you want to experience Dresden the most.
I have stayed in two hotels in Dresden and I recommend Pullman. It's very close to train station and also not far from the old town. There are fridge, coffee machine and tea kettle in room. The breakfast is excellent (sugarfree option is a plus) but it could be difficult to find seats during peak hours.
Well beyond the expectations, the room and the whole hotel were cozy and clean, there was a private parking inside, the area was really nice, close to a lot of restaurants and with the Dresden city centre at walking distance, and also my dog was very welcome. Recommended.
Hotel is located in the suburbs of Dresden. The area is quiet with supermarket and small shops close by. Tram and bus stop only 5-10 min away from hotel connecting to city center and central train station. Room was good size and comfortable. Beds were comfortable.
The hotel is in a great location,in front of it there are differents trams which head to the old town. The room was really big,the breakfast delicious with a very large choice of food. I can only recommend to stay in this hotel if you are visiting Dresden.
Great location just outside the Old Town in Dresden. This was our second time staying in this hotel. We had a suite and it’s a huge room with lots of space for three people! Our room had a small refrigerator which was extra nice for our stay.
The location of the hotel is perfect, just at the historic centre of Dresden. From there you can easily access old town, Elba river or shopping malls in Dresden. The staff was very friendly and eager to help with everything.
The place is located in the very center of Dresden old town, which made it very convenient to visit museums, the Christmas market and the river. Overall we are very happy that we chose this accomodation.
