Vienna is a wonderful city, crossing point between East and West for centuries, being the capital of Austrio-Hungar empire, have all kind of resources, places for every traveller.
From pastry and kitchen, to clothes and design, architecture and art.
Art is for me the most rich experience: for the many musea I could only visit Hoog Belvedere, Albertina and Kunstforum wien (property of Austria Bank) were there was a retrospective of great artist Roberto Matta, the most complete in decades in Europe.
A very beautiful place is the palais Schonbrunn, knew as residence of Sissy, quite expensive admission but surrounded with a magnificent and gigantic garden, free access, with hill and fountains, you can made a tour in wiener horse coach.
I recommend to buy 1,2,3 of week tickets for public transport: Metro, tramway, train and bus, in de central zone : attention: you get a card that NOT NEED to be validated, you have to have with you when requested in the very rare occasion of inspection, what make very easy to make the frequent change of lines.
Apart of chic and expensive classical restaurant, there are plenty place to eat, from hotdogs on street to some food hall in the big markt, good and cheap.
Enjoy your stay!

The city is very clean and the architecture is beautiful.
The city is very clean and the architecture is beautiful. Gardens of the Schönbrunn are exceptional. Great food in the restaurants. The boat ride on the Danube was disappointing - 30 minutes in a water lock. The staff smoked cigarettes on the deck next to the tourists.

We wish we could have stayed longer!
We wish we could have stayed longer! Vienna is a beautiful SAFE city with so much to see and do. The locals we encountered were very nice. In just 3 days we were able to see a classical concert in the evening, take in the Sisi Museum (order tickets online), enjoy the sunshine and lounge around on the palace lawn, eat at some good restaurants, and of course, enjoy coffee and apple strudel at Cafe Sperl. The one big surprise was that many restaurants took CASH only which forced us to find an ATM after business hours. The bank ATM we tried didn’t take foreign (US) debit cards, so we were forced to use the Euronet one in the Nauschmarket…something we try to avoid because of the fees. 😩
Another surprise…in a good way…was walking into St. Stephen’s Cathedral and being able to enjoy high mass with full orchestra, pipe organ and choir midday on a Thursday. At first, we entered with all the other tourists and thought the music was just a rehearsal until we saw on the monitors that the cardinal was celebrating mass. We then worked our way to the left side where we were able to enter by indicating that we wanted to attend mass and were allowed through. Luckily we had been to Europe before and knew that tradition.

I can't recommend Wein enough.
I can't recommend Wein enough. The place is steeped in history and there are so many places to visit and things to do. Do your research as it pays to book many of the attractions beforehand to avoid disappointment and avoid queues. In particular Schonbrunn Schloss, The Sisi Museum, The Spanish School of Horse (Lipizzaner) the State Opera House tour. There are so many concerts on offer - do your research!

Once you get to Vienna old town, it is breathtaking.
Once you get to Vienna old town, it is breathtaking. The history surrounding the palaces, the gardens, museums and overall architecture was amazing.
From the Belvedere Gardens, you can walk the entire historic city and there are plenty places to stop for a coffee, beer or strudel.
We took the Hop on Hop Off bus to get our bearings first of all. It gives a great insight to the history of Vienna as you travel. Then just jump off and walk.!!
The centre around St Stephan's Cathedral was vibrant, beautiful and so easy to navigate.
For mobility impaired people such as myself, just be aware of the fact that the historic cafes/restaurants offer toilet facilities but the may have stairs leading up/down to them. However, this is the same through out Europe in my experience.
The hotel is located very close to the main Vienna train station. You could access the main city centre using the Tram line D departing very close to the hotel. Tickets can be brought on the tram via an automated machine. Remember to buy the 24 hour ticket rather than a single journey ticket if you plan to travel around a bit. The hotel and the rooms are very clean, new and functional. The breakfast was ok value around 12 Euros. There is also a 24 hour bar downstairs which seem to be quite popular in the evening.
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location! this hotel was absolutely perfect! check in was smooth and efficient, rooms were immaculately clean. the bathroom was great and the shower was spacious with excellent water pressure. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice. close to underground and a 5 minute walk from the city centre. Staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly, especially the staff in the breakfast room. My partner and I had a fantastic stay in Vienna and loved this hotel!
Nice design, both the hotel and the room. The staff is really great, and the hotel has good facilities, whether its the rooftop bar, the restaurant, and the bonus is the fact that you can take a record from the collection in the reception desk area and play it using the record player in the room.
That was my 8th time visiting Vienna, and this was one of the best hotels I stayed in the city.
The location is great, just a minute walk from Mariahilferstraße
Spacious room, comfy beds, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location! What’s not to like?! I highly recommend Radisson red hotel for anyone looking to stay in Vienna for a few nights. Also, very clean hotel with lots of amenities, including a rooftop bar with beautiful views of the city and river. It is a short walking distance to the main city centre (about 6-7 mins) Very happy with my stay here, I will be coming back for sure!
The hotel had a fantastic modern design, and my room (which was more like a small apartment) was spacious yet cozy, complete with a small kitchenette and a charming balcony. The air conditioning worked efficiently, ensuring a comfortable stay. The hotel's location was superb, conveniently near a tram station that provided easy access to the city center and main train stations. It was an ideal choice for my short solo trip to Vienna.
Spacious rooms that were clean. The bathroom was large and immaculate. The breakfast was wonderful with a huge array of options. The location is right next to Schönbrunn Palace which was nice. The city centre was a few stops away on the train but this was no issue as there was metro direct line literally 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The overall feel of the hotel was old-style grandeur which was a perfect stay for Vienna.
I was extremely happy booking this hotel! it’s located in the city center, everything is close by foot. bed is super comfortable and the staff (especially the ones working in the morning, Nikol and another super nice guy that I forget his name), we’re extremely kind and done anything they possible could to make my stay wonderful.
I will definitely be back next time I’m in Vienna
Great hotel. The room was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was great - everything was fresh and well made with a lot of vegetarian options. The hotel is close to the central train station, so it is really easy and fast to reach the airport. Public transportation in Vienna is amazing, and it took us 10 minutes to get to the city centre. I would highly recommend this hotel
Nice quiet location in a park, close (20 mins walk) to the UBahn for travelling to Vienna city centre. Shops, bars and restaurants nearby, short walk away. Easy to reach by car, saves driving into Vienna. Perfect for watching Rapid Vienna. Hotel is quiet, clean and reasonably modern. Outside parking, seemed safe (in a good area). Good breakfast.
As we were travelling by train the location of the hotel, across the road from the mainline station, suited us. Although it is approximately 3km south of the city centre the transport links in Vienna are so good that it is very easy to get around the city.
There is a decent bar and reception area, and they provide a good breakfast.
Amazing hotel, very clean and cozy rooms, very good shower. Closer to the city center (Stephansplatz and Karlsplatz stations) - you just need to go Praterstern station and then change to U1 line to for reaching Stephansplatz (just 3 stations). We would definitely choose this hotel during our next visit to Vienna.
The location was super convenient, located right opposite Central Vienna Station. One minute's walk to the bus station, which connects the hotel with the city center. The room was not big but was neat and tidy. Their staff was also helpful. They passed me the city guide even though I didn't request it.
Very well trained staff. Always ready to help in what you need. Exceptional hygiene and cleanliness. The room, breakfast and everything else was at the level you would expect from a 5 star hotel. For me it is the best hotel in Vienna at the moment. I highly recommend it to anyone who can afford it.
This was a great base for a visit to Vienna with easy access to the city centre via the trams which pass the hotel. We appreciated the colourful and lively design and the room was well equipped and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd definitely be happy to stay here again.
Very comfortable and clean room in a location not far from the city center (walkable - 15 mins) with good access to public transportation. They provided an excellent breakfast, including sparkling wine for Mimosas.
I'd be happy to return to this hotel on a future visit to Vienna.
Wonderful location within walking distance of the main city centre. There is an underground station nearby. The hotel is basic and no frills, and good value for central Vienna. They stored our luggage for a few hours on the day of check out.
Nice hotel, very clean, excelent breakfast, nice personal. The rooms are small, but imaculate clean, nice personal. There is a parking. Not the best location if you want to visit Vienna, but still not too far from the city centre-about 6 km.
The hotel is close to the city centre, only 4 stops by metro, it was clean, warm, they changed the towels every day, we let our backpacks at the hotel after the checkout free of charge. It's a good option to stay for 3 days in Vienna
The location is outstanding for having nice walks in the city centre.
Karl, the host, is extremely nice and attentiv. He gave us free ride from and to the airport plus he gave us really useful tips and hinds about Vienna sightseeing.
A nice, cozy hotel located within the walking distance of the city center (15 min). Friendly service, tasty breakfast and comfortable rooms, overall a great option when staying in Vienna.
