It was a little bigger than I expected. The cottage was clean, stocked with extra blankets and pillows, well stocked kitchen, good communication with owners. We did clean the dishes we used upon leaving, but I appreciate the small check out list.

Quiet location, spacious for two people, good location if you want to spend time at Eagle Lake. The pictures were accurate and honestly reflect that the place is a bit funky, so no reason to complain about that. Price was good, but initial prices we saw would have been expensive for this place.

Older facility, but our room was comfortable, and a nice size. Bathrooms are always a problem, grout around the tub should be replaced. The black moldy grout makes it feel unclean. There was a group of Middle Eastern men cooking food in a portable hibachi in front of their room. Not the best site to walk by, but they were friendly and not causing a problem.

Susanville is a nice small town.
Susanville is a nice small town. It has great accommodations, good restaurants, shopping, and the usual fast food. It was our choice due to it's location between Eureka, CA and Tonapah, NV. We decided not to stop in Reno, a couple of hours east, and stay in Susanville CA. The hotel rates are better in Susanville. I would recommend staying in Susanville.

Charged us when we couldn’t get to your motel due to truck breakdown in Tonopah. Email you advising of our situation and why we could not be there. You charged us anyway. Not a situation we had any control over or that was foreseeable. We stay there regularly when we travel between Florence, Oregon and our home in Las Vegas. Never again unless you refund the charge promptly and notify us accordingly. Stopped and talked with the girl at the front desk. She was extremely rude and said Best Western had nothing to do with it. Before, desk girl was helpful and friendly. Current one needs to be replaced or your business will suffer.

Susanville is an interesting city.
Susanville is an interesting city. It is nestled in beautiful Lassen county among incredible forest (*May be temporary given CA fire issues), lakes and rivers. The people are generally pleasant but there is an oppressing vibe, perhaps from a struggling Native American Casino and that the main economy centers around the Prison systems. Some of the main street businesses are quite outdated/closed and yet I feel a little misty eyed as I pass the Sears store on my way out of town. There are some cool old shops for fishing and such also, they do have a Starbucks. I'd recommend it for camping, hunting, fishing and water sports for sure.

Outside the river inn is a steak house that I went to.
Outside the river inn is a steak house that I went to. I was so tired of eating fast food so I wanted a good meal. I walked to the steak house and ordered a filet mignon but learned they were out so I ordered a N.Y. strip and baker. It was an ok steak but the potato tasted 2 days old. 40$ dinner. Won't eat there again.

Susanville is a quaint little town with lovely people.
Susanville is a quaint little town with lovely people. It's close to Lassen National Park, where the scenery and hiking are unrivaled. The downtown restaurant scene leaves a little to be desired.
The Comfort Inn at Susanville is one of those little gems you find that makes your day . The place felt like home, from the very friendly staff to the really great breakfast you just felt welcomed. Mr Larry Memmott and his staff were fantastic making you feel so welcome and very helpful in any enquiries that we had regarding places to go, road conditions and changing reservations I cannot thank them enough. If you are travelling to Susanville California stop at the Comfort Inn you won't be disappointed
The room was nice. Although I wanted a bathtub I had a wheelchair room. But overall it was very clean nicely set up and I like how my room was preheated before I got there… front desk lady who checked me in was sweet… so far this is one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in while out there visiting my husband at HDSP. I will be back… only wish the water was hotter for my shower didn’t seem to me to warm and I was cold… anyways thanks for the stay…
Breakfast was better than most hotels and started early enough that we could enjoy it before a day of hiking. Room was big and clean, with a fridge, microwave, and TV. Nice town with lots of food places to choose from, including the Pizza Factory in the same parking lot. Stayed here to visit Lassen National Park and while there are closer places, we loved the convenience of being in a real town with store and restaurant options.
The room was nice, quiet, and clean. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was good. We did not use the free breakfast as we were looking for a bit more. I appreciate being able to get a ground floor room. The check-in person did make that change for us. It was easy to find, and in Susanville close to other things in town.
Bed was comfortable and main room was updated, the bathroom is still old style but everything worked. This hotel is used by construction workers so a little noisy in the morning. Compared with other hotels in area it was less money so you need to expect some inconsistencies. Overall it was ok for a nightly stop.
I like the fact that you need a key to access the hotel hallway which made me feel more comfortable. Everything about this hotel is great. It is by far the best place to stay in Susanville
Quick stop in Susanville. This hotel was nice, clean, wood floors, very very nice! Front counter Staff was great very welcoming. Maintenance lady was a sweetheart. Definitely recommend.
Very clean and neat hotel. Staff was friendly. Beds very comfortable. Central location, but not directly on the main drag so very little traffic noise. Really good coffee.
