Location:
If you would not insist on living in Venice islands, the location is very good. From the hotel you can easily go to the Venice islands by train, and there are just so many trains that you usually wait for 10-15 mins and there is one. Moreover, even it is close to the train station, it is still very cozy and safe nearby! - At least during our visit (in the middle of April).
Facilities, staff, and so on:
Worth the price! They are not extrordinary, but definitely satisfying for a 4-star hotel.

Perfect! First - great location - it's super easy to reach from the airport with the airport bus shuttle stopping right near the hotel. Plus, getting to Piazzale Roma is very easy - just a 5-minute walk to the tram stop, and a quick 15-minute ride on the tram itself. The trams run every 10 minutes, which is convenient. You can buy tickets at the shop by the tram stop or at a cafe along the way. Also it's no problem to get to the Mestre railway station - it's just a 15-minute bus ride from the stop near the hotel. The room was cozy and clean, with everything you could need. Very good breakfast with both sweet and savory options, and it starts early. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the area felt safe and quiet. There's a big supermarket nearby if you need anything. I'll definitely stay here again if it's available! 😊

Located just across the lagoon from the Venetian islands, Mestre is the mainland part of Venice and has cheaper accommodations, with easy transport links to the historic center. However, the city has more than just cheap hotels going for it.
Host to several festivals throughout the year, huge Parco San Giuliano has fantastic views across the lagoon towards the Campanile and dome of St Mark’s Cathedral. Also worth a wander round is Forte Marghera, a former Austrian fortress on an island in the middle of star-shaped canals. One canal continues into the center of the city and is lined with restaurants and bars.
Pavement cafes can also be found in Piazza Ferretto, a triangular square with a 12th-century clock tower at one end and the Teatro Toniolo at the other. This popular spot for a passegiata also has a modern fountain and several boutiques. Also good for shopping in Mestre is the Le Barche center, a rather uninspiring building from the outside, but packed full of stores.
As for nightlife, Mestre has a number of clubs, including one at Tessera near to Venice Marco Polo Airport. Don’t fly out of there without having tried the little homemade cakes called "mignon".

Mestre is a small place, there’s no Uber app so you need to go with the public transport all the time. The locals don’t speak English, get a wifi connection at the center where is the train and bus station and search for bus number that will take you close to your hotel.
It’s a nice town as long you get used with the way in and out. You can arrive around 15 mins to Venice from the city center w/ bus number 2.

I stayed in Mestre as the base to travel to Venice. It was the best move. Avoid paying too much for the Venice hotels. Stay close to Mestre train station and you could be in Venice in 10 minutes. Enjoy the best of both worlds.

We only had a three night stay at the Hotel Delfino in Mestre
It is the perfect position for a value for money ,easy base to visit Venice from.
Unfortunately we did not have time to visit Mestre itself as our focus was always towards Venice.
Mestre is a very short journey by bus two and from the airport and stops outside the hotel which means your holiday can begin within the hour. Perfect. The supermarket was well stocked with anything you should need. With places to eat and regular buses to move around or by foot

This is the second time I have stayed in Hotel Garibaldi, it maybe a small hotel but has a huge heart! Luigi and his colleagues are so kind and helpful and show interest in how you spend your time. The No.2 bus stops right outside to take you to the centre of Venice. Hotel Garibaldi is excellent quality for a a very reasonable price, breakfast will set you up for the day. I will be back again soon!!

Mestre is close to Venice and a much cheaper alternative...
Mestre is close to Venice and a much cheaper alternative though you definitely miss out on the old, traditional feel of Venice (I had stayed in a hotel in Venice another time and it was wonderful there). If you eat in Mestre, it's much cheaper. We ate at 'Da Michele'. Excellent food, very good value for money. We did not have any time to explore Mestre per se, though.
Hotel Centrale is located not far from the Mestre train station, and across the street from a bus stop where you can catch a bus to Venice. The tobacco store next to the hotel sells bus tickets. Traveling with my son, we were able to afford two single rooms for less than what doubles cost in Verona. My room was very clean and comfortable. It was also quiet, even though located next to the staircase. There was a pharmacy near-by, and options for coffee and a light breakfast. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast, which we did not try.
Localised near the city center of Mestre, this three stars hotel offers old style rooms and breakfast and helps accommodate with the public transportation within the Venice area by selling bus tickets.
Right in front and across the street there are two bus stations wearing the same name as the hotel.
The room view was to the parking yard and to the neighbouring block, ensuring quiet over the night.
The breakfast options were limited, still containing tasty items and the staff was very helpful.
If you're staying in Mestre, the location is very nice. Busses and trams to Venice go close by, and the bus to the airport goes from the front of the hotel.
Also if there happens to be a public transport strike (like when I was in Venice), or you just want to see Mestre, the center of Mestre is close and there's also the Forte Marghera castle for some local action. In Mestre the M9 museum is worth a look (no crowds), and Conestoga Of Cazzador has the best cratf beers in Venice.
Perfect place for rail travelers. Directly across the street the street from the Venezia Mestre rail station, meaning day trips to Venice take only 10 minutes and connections on Italian Rail trains could not be easier. I don't find Mestre to be a very attractive town, but if proximity to trains and minimal nuisance with carrying luggage is the objective the hotel is great. Also, a quicker and cheaper cab ride to the Venice airport than from Venice itself.
The location is perfect for a short stay in Venice, just a ten minute walk from Venezia Mestre train station and a large supermarket right over the road from the property. This was helpful for us to pick up food for the day which saves some dollars on the holiday budget.
John, our warm and friendly host, was supportive and most helpful in welcoming and explaining the property to us. We hope many more guests come to your apartments.
The host was very helpful and friendly! The location is great, close to a supermarket, and to the bus stop (to get to Venice). Also it's near the train station, so it's very convenient if you need to travel somewhere else in Italy. The heating system works well, the apartment was warm, despite the very cold weather outside (I stayed at Casa Milena in winter). Wifi works well! It's very easy to go to Venice from Casa Milena!
The best quality of the hostel is the excellent staff. They amazingly remember names of people who have stayed there previously, and become friends. Outstanding location, one block from the Mestre train station and bus station, with easy connections to other North Italy cities. Lots of shops nearby including well stocked tech shops. The rooms have everything. It's a 15 minute train ride to the canal section of Venice.
The hotel is in a great location, the bus stop for Venice is a few steps from the hotel. The center of Mestre is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Bus tickets can be purchased at the hotel reception. The hotel has private parking, but it costs €15 per night, the car key must be left at the hotel reception. Breakfast was fine. The staff is friendly and helpful.
This hotel is wonderful. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful. The room had eveyething we needed; fridge, ac, big balcony, comfortable beds and bathroom. Breakfast was nice and customer service is really wonderful. Less than 5 min walk to mestre central station and the tram to venice.
Nice location, really close to Mestre central station (the rooms are quiet and you do not hear the noise from the trains). Staff is friendly and breakfast has multiple options. The hotel also has a nice bar with cocktails, wine and snacks at a fair price, which is a nice surprise in a place like Venice. Highly recommend
We had a great time at Camping Venezia Village! The staff was great, speaking several languages and also our early check-out was no problem. The location itself is great, clean and has everything you need. A bus stop in front of the camping place brings you in around 10 minutes to Venice. Recommend staying there!
Location. We didn’t want to drag our luggages in Venice so we looked for a hotel close to the Mestre Station which is just across the street. It was very convenient to go to Venice and/or Trieste if you’re embarking on a cruise. Breakfast is very good with a variety of choices.
The hotel is just excellent. Incredibly comfortable beds, big bathroom, complimentary drinks and biscuits, clean and spacious. It is right next to Mestre trains station which allows for very easy access to Venice and to all the other cities and regions in Italy.
Perfect Hotel with perfect location! 5 minutes of walk from Mestre Trailway Station. Venice is also so close, 10 minutes ride by bus. Staff was very kind, they let us leave our luggage for whole 20 hours. My Recommendations to this Hotel
Great option only a 5 minute walk from Venice Mestre station. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend, a really good option for those who want a cheaper alternative to the hotel in central Venice!
The hotel is very close to Mestre train station. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very supportive, helpful and knowledgeable, in particular, about Venice Transport ticket types and prices.
Breakfast was good! They had a good selection of items, including American dishes which was nice after several weeks in Italy.
Another plus was how easy it was to take transportation to Venice Main attractions.
The hotel is very close to the mestre train station, and the connection to the venice main islands is very good. The stuff working there is very friendly, responsive and helpful, I enjoyed my stay there.
Perfect location for a budget visit to Venice. Bus stop about 15m away with services to Venice and Mestre Station. Breakfast available at sister Hotel in next block.
