Lovely property. An amazing hearty meal for breakfast. Beautiful neighbourhood. The staff was very compliant and friendly. They helped us find parking for our rental car, and accommodated for our late breakfast and even kept our house-keys in the reception for NYE

The location and aesthetics of the property are absolutely phenomenal. I felt transported into a location that wasn’t just a hotel but clearly a labor of love. There were personal touches that just made sense, excellent provision of little amenities, amazing breakfast and dinner with a view. We came to the town of Şirinçe for its historical charm (and it had plenty), but our stay and walks around the grounds of Nisanyan hotel were the most charming part of all. My partner and I have stayed in hotels in over 15 countries, and this one was in our top 3, and in certain aspects, a clear favourite. I would love to come back and stay longer in the future.

Loved the family that owns and runs this cute hotel. It's in a perfect location to walk to lovely restaurants, interesting museums and the bus/train station. Bugra gave us very useful suggestions on visiting the many sites nearby. Everyone was very responsive and were happy to have us as their guests.

The hosts were fabulous and helped us with outing reservations, info on local busses, and airport transfer. We especially enjoyed fires in our fireplace in the evenings. Breakfasts were lovely and scrumptious. They turned on the TV for breakfast which first I was wishing they wouldn't, but instead of news or some other thing I didn't want intruding on my breakfast, there were beautiful vids with gentle music - themed to travel, etc, without adverts. It was lovely!

Smaller and less touristy with locals attentive to your need and willingness to help. Ephesus Archeological Park was the highlight of the visit. There is no dearth of choices for eating - from local Turkish dishes to Burger King. Selchuk is more convenient to stay as beginning from morning you can at your leisurely pace cover St John's Basilica, Artemis Temple, Ephesus Archeological Park and Virgin Mary's House all in one day.

we stayed in Sirince.
we stayed in Sirince. An antique village in the mountains outside of Selcuk. A 19th Century experience in small town Turkey. Bring good shoes for steep hills and uneven ground. Good natural foods from local farms. Expect an authentic experience.

I’m not sure why anyone from away would come to Selcuk unless they were there to see the antique ruins of Ephesus. That is certainly why we came. If you are in Turkey- I suggest it is a must see.
Ephesus is one of the most excavated sites in the world. It is humbling to see how much as a civilized culture we have forgotten- or forgot and have had to rediscover over the millenniums.
That said, Selcuk had decent dining options, and other attractions like the Ephesus Museum (where the artifacts are housed), and the Saint John Basilica which are fantastic. Both are blocks from the Akanthus hotel (which I reviewed separately and highly recommend .

Amazing place in order to visit not only Ephesus but other ancient greek cities nearby too. The city in itself has also many touristic spots in itself (like the lonely column that remains ot the ancient Artemision).

We visited Selcuk for one night to visit Ephesus and a friend staying locally. The town was lovely to walk through and easy to navigate. Ephesis was easy to get to, but the tour guide options were more challenging to navigate (beforehand).
There are a couple of beautiful restaurants, so do your research.
The taxis are a drag. Most have fixed fees but unclear what they include. One time we paid 100TL to go from Selcuk to the hotel, and the next taxi driver charged us 400TL to return. It was a 10-minute drive. Be aware that if you order a taxi to Ephesus, they may include the 'whole trip', whatever that means...
Ephesus is worth the visit if you're into ancient history or faith-based movements. You will want to get the audio guide, a guided tour or look up a DIY one online.
The Ephesus museum can be done in 45 - 1 hour if you are not a details person. Lots of well-curated objects but narrative and contextualising could do with some work. You might want to brush up on your periods before visiting.
A truly family run and family style small hotel in Selcuk, near Ephesus. We really enjoyed the helpful and very friendly welcome and all the small, honest, personal touches that we experienced during our stay: an unexpected glass of white wine while we were swimming in the refreshing pool in the courtyard, a just in time cup of Turkish Coffee when I was working on my laptop in the dining room, and also the very delicious and plentiful home cooked breakfasts. Very well done.
This family-owned hotel is a peaceful and friendly oasis in Selcuk. Our room was clean and comfortable, garden patio for the scrumptious breakfast was lovely, and the owners and staff were especially helpful. Nazmi gave us a ride to the upper entrance of Ephesus, and Erdal recommended two excellent restaurants within walking distance. Parking was available right on the street, and the wifi was reliable and strong. Highly recommend this hotel.
The Urkmez Hotel and its team provided exceptional service, offering a warm welcome, assistance with luggage, helpful guidance on local attractions, and even aid in planning our travels for the following day. Though the rooms were modest, they provided a comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning, ensuring a perfect night's sleep before our early train departure. Additionally, the delicious breakfast complemented our stay beautifully
The hotel has a very unique turkish decor with some antique furniture (not for everyone, but I liked it). This puts you in a bit of a exotic atmosphere (which I think is desirable when travelling in Turkey).
The breakfast was one of the best experiences I had in the whole country. Not a buffet, a beautiful table of assorted dishes is served. The manager and his wife are extremely kind and friendly to everyone. They are perfect hosts.
Super comfortable beds with curtains for privacy, clean hostel and located 30sec walk from center.
The hostel is brand new (1month only) and is much better than many hotels in Turkey.
The staff Ozgun and Yusef are super nice and professional.
you can reach Ephesus old city by bus that is 3min walking from the hostel.
if you have car or motorcycle you can park on the street in front of hostel under security cameras.
This hotel is absolutely perfect and probably best value for money in and around Selcuk. Hotel is run by family and is located in the heart of Selcuk, with Ephesus museum, st. John the baptist basilica and castle being few hundred meters away. Ephesus and Pamuchak beach are reachable either with car or by local transport.
Breakfast was very good, freshly made and served with tea or coffee.
The property, room, and views were all gorgeous!! We really loved the Turkish bath in our room and the full closet setup to hang up our clothes. If you eat at the restaurant, definitely try the curry chicken. It was probably my favorite meal in all of Turkey. I really loved the mythology theme to the hotel and the view of town at night was beautiful. It was such a great stay!
Great boutique hotel in Selçuk. Very well located near a main street but at the same time very quiet at night. The hotel has a great staff that helped us with tips from around the city. Breakfast was great and served fresh every morning. It is a great place to stay in order to explore the area, especially Ephesus. It is just a few meters away from Ephesus Museum as well
I was in this hotel 8 years ago and I visited it again. In the meantime, the hotel has been completely renovated. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. Parking in front of the hotel. A few steps from St. John's Basilica. Beautiful terrace with a view (including some rooms ) on the Temple of Artemis. The breakfast is solid and usual for smaller hotels in Turkey
The location is unbeatable, very central, close to the bus station and the Ephesus Museum, which I enjoyed visiting. The hotel staff were nice and helped me with everything I needed, including planning for my tour and bus leaving Selcuk on the second day. At the time I visited, a hotel puppy was always hanging around the lobby which was so cute!
Best breakfast we had in Turkey! Ali and his wife are lovely hosts, they really go out of their way to improve your experience in town. The restaurant Ali owns is amazing and cheap as well. Room was very nice and comfortable, had a traditional vibe to it. Well located in town. Definitely recommend.
Selçuk is an amazing city and the hotel is idilic. Erdem and all the staff have the best energy, always smiling and making all efforts to give us the best time. Breakfast is amazing! And the shower is one of the best I have ever seen in a hotel, that tends to be the issue on the list but not here!
Wonderful hotel centrally located in Selcuk (near the bus and train station and great Saturday Bazaar). The rooms are clean, quite spacious and comfortable with a nice sitting area downstairs. The family running the hotel is welcoming and really helpful. Try his brother's Ali food, delicious 😋
Everything. The property is gorgeous , the staff is friendly. The breakfast was amazing , probably the best we had in Turkey. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is great ! Erdem went out of his way to make us feel comfortable . We will hopefully be back in the future
This was our 2nd stay at the property in 3 years. Once again our host Emre', exceeded our expectations and provided us with top class service and yet another memorable stay. This is one of my favourite hotels in Turkey.
Would love to come back again.
The place is near the city centre.
The staff spoke great English.
The breakfast was great.
It had a nice garden to relax and drink something.
The bathroom was bigger than most bathrooms in Turkey.
Good location, some nice shops and restaurants around the corner. Pretty old building, nicely decorated and super clean rooms. Breakfast was very good, although not the best we had in Turkey ;)
The PERFECT base to explore Selcuk and Ephesus. It's a real gem of a hotel with pool and there are loads of places to eat right on it's doorstep. Reccommend.
