Goreme, Turkey, is a captivating destination that perfectly blends natural wonder with rich cultural heritage. Nestled in the heart of Cappadocia, this enchanting town boasts surreal landscapes dotted with fairy chimneys, ancient cave dwellings, and stunning rock formations. The weather was perfect during our visit, allowing us to fully enjoy the breathtaking hot air balloon rides at dawn, offering an unforgettable aerial view of this otherworldly terrain. The food was delicious, showcasing the rich flavors of Turkish cuisine, and we had a great time savoring local dishes. Beyond its scenic beauty, Goreme's warm and hospitable locals, intriguing historical sites like the Goreme Open-Air Museum, and unique accommodations in cave hotels make it a must-visit for any traveler seeking a truly magical experience.

ballon is a ripe off, especially if what you have booked did not materialised, you will be riped off even further when attempt to get the next day and so on, price becomes rediculous and the mafia gang up to suck your money, can be as much as EUR 500 per person
everything else is okay in terms of other tourist attractions... just mind the day and night contrasting temperature... hot at day and freezing at night

The only thing that wasn't perfect was that the balloons couldn't fly due to weather. I would recommend giving yourself enough time for rescheduling the balloon rides- 1 or 2 extra mornings so that you have a better chance of getting to go up. Unfortunately, the balloons won't fly if there is wind, and no one can control Morther Nature!

People are very nice and friendly but be aware of the kind of hotel you are booking. If you are looking for cave style hotel like Carus then be aware of mold and moist in it some might not have ventilation although the one we went to last year was well ventilated and we were ok. This year we thought we get a different hotel and that was a mistake. It was moist and moldy and no ventilation in the room so we were such the whole time and 4 day after we left.

Beautiful and vibrant city!
Beautiful and vibrant city! We stayed 3 days but I wish we had been there for at least one more day in order to take advantage of all the activities. The city is very walkable and compact but there are hills.
Lodging: There are many cave hotels scattered throughout the hills and are quaint. We stayed at the Elite Cave Suites which was clean and efficient. I looked at a few other hotels and they appeared to offer the same things; rooms built into the mountain, breakfast on a open terrace etc. Some even had pools. All offer to book your tours and had discounts which was helpful.
Eating: There are many, many restaurants to choose from that are within walking distance of the hotels. We ate at 3 of them and all served delicious food and regional specialties. We had a person with a food allergy in our group and each restaurant was helpful in providing information on ingredients in the dishes. The specialty of the region is a dish baked in a clay pot and then cracked open at the table for you to eat. Delicious and filling.
Activities: balloon rides, ATV riding, horseback riding, hiking, tours, Hamam experiences.
This is a great base for doing local tours in Cappadocia to the surrounding archeological and historical sites. We had rented a car and drove to many of the sites ourselves but a guide would have been useful for history and background.
All in all a beautiful place that was clean and welcoming. Highly recommend and would return tomorrow!

We loved the rock formations, cave dwellings, and churches; they're truly fascinating. The area is touristy, so you'll find good amenities, but it also means you'll encounter influencers focused on taking fake photos, which can be entertaining yet irritating. However, if you have a car (which I recommend), you can escape the touristy spots and explore more interesting and secluded sites.
Cem and his staff were very helpful during our stay at Goreme Mansion, he arranged everything for us from busrides from the airport to the door of the hotel, to tours and even SIM-cards and HES-codes for our stay in Turkey. You can clearly notice his passion for making your stay the best experience. The hotel isn't the biggest and croudest, but we thought the typical Turkish köy house and breakfast, the unique cave experience, the quiet environment and central location were ideal for a short stay (3 days) in Cappadocia with my sister.
Karadut hotel is a very cozy place to stay at during your time in Cappadocia. The room was spacious and comfortable, not to mention the perfect temperature inside the rock cave. A nice plus is the terrace, which has a fantastic view on Göreme. It was really enjoyable to watch sunset and sunrise from it, and also to have that nice view during breakfast.
The hotel manager was beyond nice and helped us booking different activities and tours during our stay.
Also, a lot of nice cats around :-)
Great experience and unforgetable stay in Cappadocia thanks to this amazing host Okan and Whisper cave house. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful all the way during our long stay in Goreme+Dedicated, hard working and even entertaining to make you happy even if it rains and no balloons in the air for days 😁
Whisper house itself is in great location with beautiful terrace, comfortable rooms and great value for money to all types of travellers.
Thanks for everything buddy 🤝👏👍🙏
Highly recommend this hotel if you’re considering staying in Cappadocia. The hotel is not in a cave, but the location gives you a great view of the cave hotels, and there is a place on the rooftop to watch the hot air balloons. The hotel is located near a market, shops and restaurants. Bedrooms and facilities were clean and the photos reflect how the rooms are. The breakfast is amazing! The hotel night attendant was very friendly and attentive.
Booked this for low-season (December) at a great price and expected a typical 2 star experience.
Arif Cave Hotel exceeded all my expectations!
From the beautiful cave room itself, to the friendly and welcoming staff, and the even more decadent breakfast spread— this place is more on line with 4 star lodging, and I’ve traveled far and wide!
Do yourself a favor and book here to enjoy the beauty of Goreme, and surrounding Cappadocia!!!!
What a beautiful hotel and situated prefectly well in Goreme main city. It was my first time in Cappadocia and Aza Cave hotel staff made it so smooth for us and took care of every little detail. Not only did we check in smoothly but they also helped us with other activity bookings.
The staff is amazing there. So warm, kind & extremely helpful. Had a wonderful experience there !!
Thank you for an amazing experience.
The location is excellent, and the place is very clean with a delightful breakfast. The host and their family members were incredibly helpful. However, it's worth noting that despite the hotel's name being 'Goreme Cave Suites,' we were surprised to find that our room was made of stone rather than in an actual cave. To ensure you get a cave room, I'd recommend verifying the room type with them in advance.
EVERYTHING. This has to be the most special, clean, friendly and attentive service in a Cave Hotel in Cappadocia.
From the breakfast to the terrace also the two amazing rooms with great decor and architectural designs. Amazing. Stunning.
This is the only hotel with a unique feeling, we stayed in 2 different hotels and this came on top by a country mile. (The other hotel was double the price too!!!)
Family-type small hotel close to center of Göreme, cave-like construction in a slope of sandstone rocky slope but made extremely comfortable combining local traditional elements (like carpets) and modern amenities (like Wi-Fi) Very friendly host speaks fluent English and helps with organizing your stay in Cappadocia to make the most out of your time spent here.
In love with this location and hotel! The feeling of history with nature is so pure and relaxing, living within beautiful caves. Also, the restaurant within the hotel had excellent dinner and a wonderful free breakfast feast. I would definitely stay here again.
You must ride a hot air balloon if in Cappadocia, it was an incredible experience.
Fabulous hotel- the staff were amazing, the room was gorgeous, the breakfast was great and it’s a two minute walk from the town of Goreme. The panoramic views of the fairy chimneys were stunning. Many thanks to Arif for all his help with booking activities, especially the balloon ride. Can’t recommend Secret Hill Caves highly enough.
Family-owned hotel.
Personal attention given by Irfan, Ebrahim, Murtaza and Ahmed and their mama.
Breakfast was amazing and to sit in a heated bubble with the best views of Gerome was a bonus.
They arranged all our tour in Cappadocia, and we were not disappointed.
Will highly recommend this cave hotel to family and friends
It’s a Good location and great place to stay. All staffs are kind and make us feel comfortable while we staying. Love the environment. Thanks to Mustafa and another Mustafa who helped us a lot. We do appreciate their support. What a lovely Hotel. I would recommend Hidden Cave Hotel to stay in Cappadocia. Bravo and Thanks.
