You don't have to be catholic to appreciate the historical...
You don't have to be catholic to appreciate the historical aspect of this charming city. We attended noon mass one day and visited the crypt with the supposed relics of St. Santiago (James) on another day. Loads of restaurants, shops, the usual touristy stuff. There's a little "tourist train" that costs about $12 for 2 seniors -- during the 45 min. ride, a recording in many languages gives you the latest info.

Two day's is enough to see this City and the Cathedral. The Cathedral is free, but and you must pay for the museum and other sights within the complex. Not expensive. Lots of inexpensive restaurants near the Cathedral. Family run and very reasonable. Some very nice parks nearby. Plenty of shops.
